Important Patreon Campaign Infoz
Added 2014-05-18 02:17:48 +0000 UTCThis Patreon thing is great, and it's helping great things happen, and I love the shit out of each and every one of you for helping me create new things. But there's a small problem. Even though Patreon currently says I'm making $799 per month, I'm actually only getting a little over half of that. During the first month, I received a $414 PayPal payment. This month I received around $460. Patreon will let you pledge any amount, but at the end of the month you don't actually have to pay that much, and that's completely fine with me and I'm not complaining at all because over $400/month is still the best thing ever and it's helping out a ton. The problem is with the milestones. Patreon shows that I've completed 8 milestones while I've actually only completed 4 of them. (Well, 3 of them - I really need to get those new SPS stickers done.) Because of this, people are constantly asking when the uncompleted things are going to be done when we're not really to those items yet. And it probably makes the whole milestone thing a little less exciting when it seems like I'm just not doing any of them. Because of this, I've decided to up the dollar amounts on the unfinished milestone goals to at least double what they're currently at. At the end of each month, if I reach another milestone (in the amount that I actually receive), I'll move the dollar amount of it back down to the original level to show that it's been reached and that I need to get to work on that. I hope this is okay with everyone. If it's not, let's all blame Billman because he's the one that suggested it to me. I hope this is okay with everyone, though, and not too confusing. By the way, everyone who's supposed to receive something from me should be getting your care packages soon. I was a bit late in mailing things this month, but I got everything mailed out this week so at the very latest, you should have your things within a few more days. Thanks again, everyone!

Maybe put it on a new line, otherwise people that are looking at the page for the first time are going to think you're just a huge asshole. I've listened to PLA radio, then The Phone Show, and most recently, of course, the Snow Plow Show for a long time. There have been a lot of really good hacker/phreaker shows in the past -- I remember dual_parallel making Radio FreeK America bax in the day, listening to Off The Hook, BinRev Radio, Default Radio, and others -- but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Phone Losers, mainly because your antics were consistently entertaining without crossing any real boundaries (e.g. throwing furniture out of hotel windows, SWATting on-air). What I guess I'm getting at is it's cool to be able to show some support and be a part of things -- it's great to be able to encourage more podcasts and help make music videos and so forth. Speaking only for myself, move back Patreon goals and take your time -- I would rather you are happy with what you're producing and that you not burn out. The commitment to quality pranks, more frequent podcasts, and just being a part of the community around various projects is why I'm a sponsor every month.
