Change to Good Friends Patreon Tiers
Added 2021-03-01 14:44:57 +0000 UTCHello friends,
we hope you are all safe and well. We are contacting you to inform you that we are making a change to the rewards on Patreon with regard to the fanzine.
The fanzine has evolved over time, and we've ended up with a PDF-only zine in June, and a print-only zine in December. We'd like to even things out, and offer PDF and print on both issues, but this makes funding difficult. We want to make things clear and simple, so we have come up with a new plan.
- All backers will continue to have access to a longer, uncut version of each show as it comes out, and occasional invitations to join the hosts for online games and discussion.
- $1 backers: will receive a PDF of both the summer and winter tomes. They will no longer be mailed a print copy.
- $3 backers will receive a PDF of both the summer and winter tomes, along with a voucher that allows them to order print copies, at cost, from DrivethruRPG (Print On Demand). They will no longer be mailed a print copy, but will have the option of ordering one online.
- $3 and up will continue to receive a Christmas card mailed to them.
- $5 backers and above will receive a PDF of both the summer and winter tomes, along with one signed print copy of each tome. We will do a limited high-quality print run, sign and mail these tomes to everyone at this level and above, wherever they are in the world. They will now receive a print copy twice each year rather than once.
In order to host the fanzines on DrivethruRPG.com we have to place a retail price on them, so we are setting a very high price of $50, and making it clear that they are intended for Patreon backers.
So to be clear, each year, you get:
$1: TWO PDFs
$3: TWO PDFs and TWO VOUCHERS FOR POD (print on demand). PLUS ONE CARD mailed to you.
$5: TWO PDFs and TWO PRINT COPIES mailed to you direct along with ONE CARD.
We've wracked our brains about this change, and we hope that people understand the reasons for it. If anyone feels unhappy about this change and wishes for a refund, please contact us and we will refund any payments you have made to us for shows since January (episode 199 onwards. The cut off point for claiming a refund is the end of March 2021). We are also looking at how this may allow us to offer some of the previous PDF-only tomes (4.5 and 5.5) to backers in print form.
We are still committed to making the show every two weeks, and wish you all the very best.
Paul, Matt and Scott.
