ENnies 2020?
Added 2020-02-26 13:55:34 +0000 UTCHi there,
once again we're going to be entering the ENnie awards this year. We've applied previously, but have never made even the shortlist. To apply, we have to select a 15-minute segment of one of our podcasts, released after May 1st 2019 (episode 156 onwards), and send it to the ENnie judges. This is where we'd like your help. If you can nominate a favourite segment, please let us know.
In 2018, we topped a poll for best talk RPG podcast: https://www.enworld.org/threads/here-are-your-favourite-tabletop-rpg-podcasts-of-2018.666077/

I'd nominate a segment from Making Call of Cthulhu Scary. The episode had some nice depth of discussion on how to dissect fears and exploit them for games. I'd suggest starting a clip around 12:30, when Scott asks "From a gaming point of view, do you think this whole idea of helplessness..." That would capture some great discussion of using capture in a game, separation and isolation, ego death, fear of the unknown, predation. I’d cut before the bit about use of personal fears, just because it was hard for me to hear a natural end cut once that part’s underway. I suppose you could fade out and leave the judges wanting more…
