New patrons are now charged upfront
Added 2018-12-11 12:37:04 +0000 UTCDue to some scammers cheating the system and getting access to my content before they can be charged, I now have my settings configured so that all new patrons are immediately charged upfront. Sorry, but this is what happens when I get a notification of more than a handful of "new patrons" that ditch their pledge right away because they got their content for free without Patreon charging them. Why this isn't an automatic system is beyond me. I had to get it verified first.

I honestly thought Patreon closed that loophole last year when artists were complaining about it and these were artists that weren't even offering the kinds of rewards you do. I almost feel like you should open a ticket with Patreon so they CAN be charged after receiving rewards or some kind of system that any Patron who wants to pull their pledge still gets charged for the month they pledged for. Since it seems this hasn't been fixed and it's still being abused. Good on your for changing it to upfront payment!
