November release poll results and decision

The vote came in pretty strongly in favour of doing the full Mika release in one go, but initially it swung away from that option and I found myself hoping you'd pick one of the others, because that would be more manageable for me. Furthermore, after going through what's needed for the full Mika release and what I've already completed this month, I've found there's some stuff still unfinished that I wasn't aware of before. That's making the task of doing all the Mika update in one go seem more difficult than when I made the poll. I have been able to make some significant progress even in the last couple of days on that, but there's still a lot to do.

Honestly, on reflection it might have been a bad idea ask in the form of a poll at all because I think it might have created unrealistic expectations. Patrons, I find, are usually happy to advise me to skip a release for the month in aid of making the next month's release more substantial; that's helpful feedback, mind you, because it lets me know how you prefer to experience the updates and what you care about as individual consumers. The problem, however, is that when I do that I have to deal with consequences - lost pledges and decreased interest for a month that costs me money as well as generating accusations that I don't do frequent updates. Even doing this just once a year, I've found through experience, creates that problem in a noticeable way.

What this has shown me, however, is that most people would prefer to see the first Mika content in one intact release rather than divided up too much, which is something I can do by putting out the December release early and still not miss any updates.

That's already just about finished and I can have it out within a couple of days; it includes an interactive scene in the shower with Hirai, Emi and Shuji, as well as some new voice acting and new Hirai messages for dates with all three ladies. I think the new interactive scene is very nice, actually, and I'll probably put some pictures from it in the next update regardless of whether I put out the next release first.

So anyway, like I said at the time I wasn't actually promising to do what the poll told me to do; I was just using it to measure sentiment and guide my decision, which I guess it did. Hopefully this doesn't annoy anyone, but let me know what you think in the comments below!

You're right, I suppose. I do just like to get feedback from you guys when I can, particularly when I'm uncertain about what to do.

Not to sound disrespectful, but that's why I didn't vote, it was the kind of choice that only you are informed enough to make.

In this case it's less that I'm not persuaded and more that I just think the odds of me finishing the update this month are pretty slim, so I very much want to put out something, at least.

I think you made it clear enough that you weren't promising to do the choice that won. We can always hope that when a poll comes in overwhelmingly one way that will be enough to sway you but it's creators who say that they *will* do what a poll says and then change their mind when they don't like the outcome that are annoying.
