Update - Masami and Fumi on the stairs

tl;dr - I've released the PAL beta! Now I'm looking ahead to PAT.

This week's image

Yes, this image is from the update I already released this week; I don't care. I think this looks good and it's maybe a little too racy to put out as a public post with the upskirting, (I wasn't sure whether I could get away with it) so I decided I'd just use it here. If you want to see what happens next then you've got to play the latest update!

This particular pose, with Masami's legs specifically, is one I designed for a different shot, but I couldn't use that for anything, so I refitted it for this shot. I've included those original test shots in the victory suite now, though, so you can see the nice view.

PAL 1.14.0

I sound like a bit of a broken record right now, but this week I was working on the PAL commissions; wrapping up the last ones and the last planned content for the game. But they're finished now, which is a big relief for me. I've also piled in a bunch of extra stuff; some of it is new scenes I came up with while trying to divert myself from writer's block with the commissions, while some of it was extra stuff I had lying around that I was able to put in because I hadn't used it before.

The released 1.14 version is the beta, which means I'm at the stage of bug fixing now and polishing things up over the next month, (when I get time) in preparation for the public release. Now I can start focusing on PAT and really pulling that together.

There were some other things I had in mind a while back for this expansion that I didn't ultimately add to the game. I don't really want to talk about them right now for fear of provoking wishful-thinking syndrome, but if you remind me I'll be happy to talk about the cut ideas once version 2.0 of PAL is out.

I'm not sure if it's really sunk in yet that I'm nearing the end of working on PAL. Well, I suppose I should never say never - there's no reason I couldn't make a little bit more for PAL from time to time.

PAT is ahead

As I said, I'm going to get stuck into developing PAT now. I think it could be fun for me to bring together a lot of the stuff to life that I haven't been able to do before. I'm going to try to have something ready at least for patrons to see next month. 

I'd really like to get day 1 completed before I show it, although day 1 is still mostly going to be linear (thus, like a visual novel), but there's some important plot stuff in there and I've got some (hopefully) fun stuff planned, too. 

PAT planning

In my planning for PAT so far I've had the idea that you'd be able to wander around the city freely. I've been looking at what that would mean for the scale of the game and I think that might both be impractical and a pain in the ass to actually play, so I've been redesigning things a bit, at least for early releases; we'll see where it goes after that.

For now I'm focusing on making the main play area Shuji's apartment, while things like dates and story scenes will take you out to other locations. I do want you to get to see the city a lot, but the gameplay loop shouldn't be more roundabout or complicated than PAL.

1337 Photoshop skillzzz

I thought I'd mention this even though I already put it on Discord; I think I've got better with using Photoshop to correct weird little problems that come up in renders. For example, I recently rendered a shot with some cleavage that came out looking a little off:

But I fixed it by warping the area carefully, to come out like this:

It's a subtle difference, but if you look at the top of her cleavage in the first one you can see a strange, jagged bend that's produced by some of the morphs I have in effect. To remove it I couldn't just copy/paste another part of her breast over it, I had to warp it to create a curve that doesn't exist anywhere else in the picture, but I think it turned out pretty well for all that.
