Where did all the money go?!
Added 2015-12-10 23:33:08 +0000 UTCIf you're paying attention you might notice my pledge amount has just dropped quite a bit. It's been yoyo-ing a lot lately (at one point over $1000) buy this looks like a much bigger drop, doesn't it?
Well, don't worry, this is Patreon's new system of only showing what I am actually likely to get from month to month. They are now subtracting their fees, as well as pledges that were declined in the last cycle. That means my stats look a bit less impressive than before, but it's a lot closer to being accurate.
I'm planning to revise my goal amounts at some point soon, because I don't need them to be quite as high any more.

Yes, I'm afraid I do too. :) Ultimately, though, it's good that Patreon has made this change because it means you can see how much I'm really getting (sort of) and how many 'real' patrons I currently have (sort of).

2015-12-11 12:08:52 +0000 UTCPatreon takes 5%, which is actually pretty reasonable and much less than a lot of other crowdfunding sites (like Kickstarter, which takes an enormous 15%). There are, however, also credit card and currency conversion fees on top of that (in addition to declined pledges).
