Update 17

tl;dr LMI beta release, PAL voice acting tested in the game.

As per a request from last week, I present an Ai pic. Some of the update pictures have been a little chaste (mostly to avoid spoilers, and also to avoid giving away the best stuff before you play the game!) so here's something raunchier. No big explanation needed - this is Ai and Kenji in their sex scene, and she's enjoying touching his dick. This is one of Phinn's pictures; I'm actually very happy with my own work on Ai, I think I've done a good job, but Phinn knocked it out of the park with his work on Ai, so I'm happy to show it off.

Let Me In:

The beta for LMI came out this week, with the fourth ending included. I hope you've liked it! I've got a little bit of feedback on v0.4.0 (not a lot, but some) and it looks to be at least functioning okay, even if there's still room for more commands to be added.

    This has been an interesting and fun project - I hope you've enjoyed playing it and I also hope it'll be able to move adult game design forward in a very small way, although that might be hoping too much. :) I don't think the game is perfect by any means, but I'm throwing myself back into PAL development now and getting some good results.

PAL programming:

Now that LMI is basically finished apart from some final testing, I can return to programming PAL. Not that I couldn't do that before, of course, but I just really got an itch to make LMI and it didn't take long, so I hope that's okay. :) I think it's helped to recharge my batteries with a nice change of pace, as well, so I'm thinking it was a good thing. The break to try something new has been good for me.

    This week I put some of the voice acting into PAL (the parts I'd already programmed). It's shown me that, unfortunately but not unexpectedly, I will have to be doing a fair amount of volume balancing between different voice actors. This is because they all record their lines separately, and due to different microphones and different settings they wind up with different volume levels. That means I have to go in and manually change the volume for every line with some of the actors (that's hundreds of lines!) so it's a pain. To be specific, all of Rio's and Kimiko's lines need volume increases, as well as some of Iku's. Added to that, some VA needs special vocal effects added, and I'm also having to lower the volume of the music so it doesn't overwhelm the voices.

     I haven't put out another PAL alpha yet, because it just hasn't felt like there's enough obvious change in the game file, or that enough of it is ready to show off yet to be worth putting out an alpha version. I do, however, hope to have something new soon because you will at least be able to enjoy the new voiced sections.

New graphic design work:

I felt like creating some new designs this week, so I did some more work on my  mystery future project. I can't tell you much yet, but I really like the look of some of this new stuff, and I'll be able to talk about it more when PAL is done.

    I always like to have a project ready to develop when my old one is done; for example Pervert Action: Future was already more or less fully planned and the writing was underway before the beta release of Pervert Action: Crisis. That's just my method; I do a lot of planning and I like to know where I'm going before I embark on full writing of a project. Therefore it's not a bad thing that I have some plans in development now for what's coming next.

    There's a picture I really would like to post in an update just to show it off, and prove that I'm not wasting my time when I do this design work, but I have to be sensible and not show anything I can't really deliver on just yet.

    Oh, and I did some work on PAL images while I was at it - improving some weaker previous pictures and creating some new stuff that I think is really hot. It's a pity that I probably can't show that off either, just because of spoilers.

This is only a small bit of news, but hentai artist Vaiderman XXXBattery has been working on a bit of fan art for Iku - a pinup, both dressed and naked that I'll be able to show off to patrons when it's done.
