$5+ Update 10

Today's picture By popular request, this week's image is of Ai! This time the mystery is: where did all her clothes go? I tried to debate with myself over what would be a nice, non-spoilery picture for her, and ultimately I settled on this one, which is an excellent sexy shot by Phinn. It doesn't really tell you anything you don't already know, and it doesn't give you the best stuff of her, but it should be fun enough as a nice little teaser, I hope! Would you like to hear more voice acting samples in future updates? I probably won't have one every week, but I'll have more I can show off. Voice acting I have now received all of Fumi and Hiroshi's lines, as well as most of Kimiko's. I'm also expecting Rio's soon, as those have been recorded, but not sent to me. On my end, everyone has now been sent their scripts except for Masami, who hasn't yet been cast. I spent much of my available time this week preparing the scripts for the actors to work off – even the one for Masami, which I might as well have prepared before casting her if I can. Casting Masami was always going to be the hardest one, because as a rule the MILF/cougar type characters are always the hardest to get. If you think about it that makes sense; women are harder to get interested in a sex game than men are, and mostly the women who will voice act for a game like this are in their late-teens/early twenties, and they sound like they are. There are some talented actresses who do a good mature voice (I think Sacci Salt could do it well, but she's already playing Iku, so I won't double-cast unless I have to), but you can usually pick that they're too young after a few lines. Add to that the fact that Masami is a subtle character, who layers a lot of extra meanings into everything she says, and you realise it's quite a difficult job to cast her. Don't worry, though, I'll get it sorted out eventually. :) Anyway, in addition to this stuff, I'm trying to add in some sound effects to the sex scenes in places – not a whole hell of a lot, but just for key moments I'm planning to include stuff like creaking bed springs and the slapping of flesh on flesh that will enrich the simple moaning sounds. I think it's a cool idea, but I won't go ahead with any projects unless I'm pretty confident that the cast of characters is strong and the plot is fairly clear; oh, and that I've got plenty of nice ideas for scenes and content. So anyway, I have some nice ideas for the future, but they're not ready for prime time just yet. A little side note before I go – I think these update blogs are a good idea. It takes a little time to write them, sure, but not much, and I think it might be helping me to keep track of my own progress and be clear about where I'm focussing my time. Some weeks the update may be a little shorter, but I'll still include a picture.
