Wichannoi & Dieselnoi Library Coffee Podcast #9 (Apple and Android)

Above is our commentary audio podcast, discussing the awesome Wichannoi & Dieselnoi conversation I shared here, This is not the usual Library Coffee podcast, that often follows our filming with a legend, but rather is our special reaction to the translation project itself, our experience of many of the ideas brought up by two of the greatest who ever fought. Be sure to watch the actual conversation between these greats. Here we are bringing out thoughts to patrons who follow the Muay Thai Bones podcast by audio subscription.

NOTE: We had to reshoot the 1st 30 minutes of this podcast, so we ended up repeating some themes later, nothing too much.

Awesome. Once we get the foundation application going it would be great to coordinate with passionate others! Thank you for reaching out.

Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu

What you and Kevin are doing is absolutely great, and your foundation is a great step forward. I am now in the application process for certifying with the IFMA/WMC in the US, and maybe through my small network of friends in the officiating community I can learn more about what the Thai federation might be capable of doing. Even if some of this activity lead more combat sports peers and colleagues to your foundation, that would be a good thing. I am a lawyer ( don't hold that against me...) and if you have any legal issues or questions, feel free to check in with me (@ karunasiam@gmail ) . I am involved with Muay Thai in Thailand purely for the love of Thai culture and its people: I am deeply thankful for all that you and Kevin are doing. You're kind of the Greta Thunbergs of Thai Golden Age Muay Thai... :) I say that tongue-in-cheek, but it's kind of true...

Other associations are not something we know much about, and tend to be highly political, but we ourselves have long planned to use Patreon support to start a Foundation for the support of legends of the support. In fact were just going to have our first visit with a specialty lawyer when we got back from Chiang Mai, when Covid broke out and delayed those plans. Once that lifts this is definitely going to be a part of going forward as this Patreon grows.

Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu

I have watched with great interest your entire series, Sylvie and Kevin, and am a Patreon patron. Anumodana for all that you are doing! In any case, with respect to Khru Dieselnoi, and other Silver and Golden Age fighters, I wonder if there is a way to get the International Federation of Muaythai Association, or World Muaythai Federation, to set up a fund and committee to govern disbursements of monies to Golden Age fighters that need financial help? You have made this concern re: financial stability of fighters like Dieselnoi part of your dialogue, and it is an important concern. Thank you for the very positive work you have done to support these fighters and I would hope that the momentum that you have created can be carried forward. There is so much money in the Muay Thai world, and as many of us with NGOs in Thailand know, it doesn't take a lot of dollars to make a big difference with a Thai family or village. Just a thought for today...maybe others with closer connections to Muay Thai federations inthe west might have some ideas about the issue of financial support for fighters, esp. during this COVID crisis.
