Daniel, a 23 year old man from England, arrived in Japan after finishing his studies, the monotony of life and his desire to find new meaning led him to a small village famous for its beautiful sunrises, the village held a legend about a mystical forest believed to change one’s life

Though skeptical, the story intrigued Daniel. He felt this journey could be his chance to escape his old, empty life, with firm resolve, Daniel sought information and was guided to meet a forest guardian named Yumi.

At the edge of the village, Daniel met Yumi, a young Japanese girl who exuded a mysterious aura, Yumi warned Daniel of the dangers within the forest, yet her gaze seemed to know that her warning would not deter him

“What are you looking for here?” Yumi asked, her voice soft but piercing, as if reaching into Daniel's heart

"I want to find something new… maybe something I’ve been longing for, though I don’t even know what it is" Daniel said honestly

"Enter with an open heart, and accept what you will encounter, But remember, once you begin, there is no turning back" Yumi said with a mysterious smile, nodding as she led him to the entrance of the forest

As Daniel stepped into the forest, he began to sense an indescribable strangeness, the scent of cherry blossoms was so strong, the sound of leaves seemed to whisper, and the light around him became hazy, the world felt like it was spinning, and his body started to feel heavy

Not long after, Daniel fell in front of an old shrine bathed in a pinkish glow. A warmth spread from his fingertips, his body slowly changing his hair growing longer, his face softening, He felt his consciousness split, between himself as Daniel and a new presence, foreign yet strangely familiar

When Daniel came to his senses, he saw the reflection of a young girl in the small pond before him, the face was beautiful, Japanese, and unfamiliar, yet looked back at him with eyes that felt known

"Who am I now?" he thought, overwhelmed by confusion, every movement felt foreign, as if his body was no longer his

In his heart, he wanted to scream to remind himself

"I am Daniel!" he screamed in his mind, wanting to shout it out

But as he opened his mouth, what came out was a soft, unfamiliar voice, speaking in Japanese

“Onee-chan… may I stay here with you?” Daniel said, confused 😕

“From now on, you are Kaori, my little sister,” said Yumi, who observed the transformation, approaching with the warmth of an older sister, She held the hand of the girl who had once been Daniel, giving her a gentle smile

Kaori felt a warmth wrapping around her heart, Though confused, she felt comfortable beside Yumi, as if there was now a strong bond connecting them

Days passed, and Kaori became increasingly dependent on Yumi for every small thing, Each morning, she eagerly awaited her sister’s help with her hair or choosing her uniform, this new Kaori felt fragile and full of doubts, very different from the Daniel of before

With every smile and gentle glance from Yumi, Kaori gradually lost her grasp on her identity as Daniel

 She began to call Yumi “Onee-chan” naturally and felt comfort in her new identity as Kaori, whenever Yumi invited her to play or joined her in studying, kaori felt a warmth that was harder and harder to let go of

One night, under the cherry blossom tree, kaori hugged Yumi tightly

“Onee-chan, thank you for taking care of me” she whispered with deep emotion, yumi returned the hug gently, and Kaori felt whole, realizing she had now found a new purpose in life

In her sister's embrace, Kaori understood that she had become a part of this place, her soul now merged with her new identity, and she was ready to live her days beside Yumi with warmth

One day, under the blooming cherry blossoms, Yumi invited Kaori to take a photo with her, Kaori felt a simple yet profound happiness, like a little sister finding solace in her sister’s presence, With their hands clasped tightly, they posed in front of the cherry tree, leaving behind a beautiful memory between them
