In The Wizard of Oz, the Munchkin coroner reports on the death of the Wicked Witch of the East, singing: "She's not only merely dead / she's really most sincerely dead." No coincidence.

It was the best episode of Agatha (even better than 1x06 with Joe Locke). She may have a good chance of being nominated for "Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy/Musical" for Emmys next year.

He sounds Canadian at times and like a valley girl at others, but it doesn't take away from his performance in any way. The first episode is a major head scratcher, but the show gets much cuter and makes much more sense as it plays on.

Haven't seen anyone note that when the "FBI agent" comes to Agatha's door with pizza, she says a sentence similar to the first line of Pride and Prejudice, "it is a truth universally acknowledged...". Probably showing my age spotting that. This is a fabulous fun series.

The theme of Agnes of Westview was a take on Mere of Easttown (which I didn’t watch, but heard good things) I love Joe’s look in this so much and he does such a good American accent!

2024-11-18 00:50:03 +0000 UTCI think it did help me to watch WandaVision first, if for no other reason than that a couple of things in this series didn’t have to be explained to me. I will say that this is the first time I’ve watched this episode, and a lot of things make a lot more sense to me now having seen the whole series. By the way, the series that this episode is parodying is Mare of Easttown starring Kate Winslet. I’ve never watched that show, but I know enough about it to recognize that it’s taking off from that. And yes, I think you’re supposed to be confused and to have things start to make more sense as this series goes on. Enjoy the ride!
