This was so fantastic to watch. My ex husband is a videographer so I know exactly what goes into filming and editing even just a small 5 min video. You have done such a fantastic job here. Your courage and determination to do this is inspiring. The beach shot where the water just hits the camera is absolutely stunning. Heartstopper has helped me in so many ways. I've always been with both sex's and never thought anything of it. This amazing show has helped me put a label to who I am ( not that I had too ) Mr Ajayi said the most powerful quote of this series ( for me anyway ) so i have just gone and got a tattoo 😁 Favourite quote and my sexuality combined ❤️ couldn't figure out how to add a picture here.

I loved your Alice video when I first watched it, and re-watched it. I had NO IDEA of the creativity and knowledge and persistence and courage and tremendous skill it took to create it. Not until now. Before, I was just caught up in your story and noticed none of all that technique. By saying this I am giving you a big compliment. But you knew that. Let me add that Season 1 really opened my eyes about trans life and issues. Season 2 has really opened my eyes about ace life and issues. Go Alice! You’re on a roll!

Happy Asexuality Awareness week and sending pride vibes from Adelaide Pride. Every time I watch your video it just makes me want to give you a hug. I thought you were an amazing person before your Alice video but I understand and appreciate you more because of it. Somehow, despite every thing you've been through, you remain a beacon of inspiration to our community and I really appreciate having the ability to engage with your work. Wishing you all the best with everything you do.

Happy Ace Week, Jackie! I had no idea we had a week until you posted it on YouTube 💜 I truly appreciate and love that you share your story in such a beautiful way. Thank you for sharing the process with us, it was very cool to see.

Laurie Barber

I woke up and saw you posted a video so instead of hitting snooze I watched it! Happy Ace week Jackie. How exciting to see you breaking down your own video and hearing about all your very intentional shots, I love it all. You are amazing as well as your work, you definitely deserve an award. 💙 I’m rooting for you.

Happy Ace week, Jackie! Thanks for this. It’s very interesting to see and hear your thought process and what all went into this video. I hope you win the award. I’m speaking it out into the universe!

A good thing about being here from the US is that I can wake up in the morning to a video like this. I think a lot of people don’t realize how much work goes into making a video, even the simplest ones. And for one as technically and emotionally complex as this one is, the amount of thought and patience and skill it took for you to make it is incredibly impressive. It deserves every accolade it can get.

Awww, Jackie, this is absolutely beautiful. When I initially saw your video this Summer I got teary eyed watching. It’s so heartfelt! Now this morning, I’ve felt so many emotions. Yes, I’m crying for real, not just teary eyed. Partly because I feel horrible for you that you had those experiences growing up. I’m grateful that I’ve gotten to “know” you a bit over the past couple of months. Watching today as you review your work, I feel so proud of and for you. Thank you Jackie!! And this part I’ve said about you before and that’s you’re an absolute Gem! Sending you a Huge Hug!!!

The details and depth in this video are mindblowing! Really hope you get that Award! I just burst into tears every time I see it, it is so powerfull! It makes me feel so seen and not alone, I had a very similar journey of realising my asexuality and not feeling broken and alien anymore through Alice's work - Loveless will forever be the most important book I ever read and always have a special place in my heart. I am not a big reader but since reading Alice's books I haven't stopped reading, esp. ace related books! Some people in the comments here recommended ACE by Angela Chen! This book was so empowering and gave me the words and concepts to explaine my sexuality and have a constructive discussion about sexuality and society. Jackie, THANK YOU for putting yourself out there, being soooo vulnarable and representing the ace community with this beautiful and meaningful artpiece 💜 I can't wait for what you have next in store!

Nicky Van den Bosch

Thanks for that Sam, I’ll see if I can get that one 😊

I’m going to watch this in a bit. It’s still quite early. It’s not quite 4:30 so I need my brain to wake up a little more. Seeing this when you originally posted us what introduced me to you, Jackie. So thank you to Alice and you.

Diane Furlong

I recommend “The Invisible Orientation” by Julie Sondra Decker as a starting point. Then read “ACE’” by Angela Chen. I did it the other way around, but found that the JSD book gave better basic information, and then ACE expands on those themes more.

I loved this video when I first watched it, and I have loved this deep-dive into the creative process behind it. Thank you for sharing your story with us, and thank you for being a part of my own Ace journey. I think that so many of us feel “broken” for so long, and like you, it was Alice who helped me realise that I fall on the asexuality spectrum. It’s been an emotional journey, but so healing and freeing too. For anyone wanting to learn about asexuality, I highly recommend “The Invisible Orientation” by Julie Sondra Decker. “ACE” by Angela Chen was very powerful as an Ace person though, and made me feel so ‘seen’.

Sam S

I’m so interested to understand all the processes behind the video and also all the painstaking effort you put into making it say just what you wanted, in the cinematic ways you felt were right. I’ve always thought you were both entertaining and thoughtful, which is why I originally subscribed to your Patreon after finding your reactions to Heartstopper on YouTube, but the video added ‘brave’ to those adjectives. I don’t often drink, but if you get shortlisted for the film award, I will be raising a glass to your well-deserved success. x❤️

Graham & Ruth May

This was my first time watching a video that has some of your story, I've been watching the reactions until now. I love the inspiration and excitement in your voice and it's so empowering to see you being yourself <3

Naava

Thank you for sharing this! It was well worth staying up to watch it almost as soon as it went up! You are such an amazing person with such a beautiful heart and soul and I am so thankful for all you do!

Erin

I love that we get to see how you made this video, that kind of thing is really interesting to me and I really hope that it wins you the short film award, like Frances said it would be very well deserved 🤞 I am querying my own self and how I feel lately and this video also made me wonder, I have just received Ace by Angela Chen from the library so I am going to read that and see how I feel after that 😊

Audrey Gunn

I find it so great that we get a BTS of your short film. And the effort you put in to this is astounding! I mean, when you look at the credits of tv shows or movies and see how many people are involved to create something for tv and the fact that you did this all on your own… major props to you!!! I really hope you’ll achieve the short film award. It would be well deserved! 🫶🏽

Frances

I’ve gotta pause quickly to write down my thoughts…. I’m so captivated by all this. Jackie, you are mind-blowingly talented! I’m so glad I found your channel during the first Heartstopper season and joined your Patreon! You are amazing!!!
