Reacting to the Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe Film Trailer

Hey beautiful people,

Welcome back to another video and to a video I've been wanting to make for a while. I will definitely be making a bunch of Ari and Dante content in the lead up to the film being released! I want to do my bit in raising awareness for this film so we can hopefully get the sequel made!

See you in the comments,

Love, always ♥️

Reacting to the Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe Film Trailer

Comments

It is so frustrating that beautiful queer stories like this get little to no coverage and struggles to find distributors, It is by far one of my favorite books (the second book too) of recent years.

The Illuminati

Just wanted to drope here to say how much I love youre singing intros bevor the official intro, it has become a constant of your videos and love it sooo much. always puts a smile on my face!!!! also Didn't know anything about the film (or the book it is based on) and really intrigued by the trailer! def. gonna check it out!

Nicky Van den Bosch

Well, I have to admit that I've never heard of this before, but am intrigued to find out more and will follow Jackie's forthcoming reviews on this with interest.

Michael

We truly are in a golden age of queer cinema, and one that is hopefully only just beginning! I can't wait for what I'm sure will be a fantastic Ari and Dante adaptation, and more fantastic queer movies and TV shows that will come in the future.

Ryan O'Neill

It was a very limited release, it was in theatres in NY area, it was in 1 theatre near me for 1 week, I saw it, and had the impulse (which I did not follow) to buy a ticket to see it again for the next showing and I am still kicking myself…

Erin

I didn’t know anything about this movie until recently. Today I did a search and apparently it was in theaters here in NY early in September and I had no clue.

Diane Furlong

Can’t wait xx

Audrey Gunn

why not?

Jackie-Ross Lavender

Yeah I know that's what I was referring to which is why I don't want a sequel movie. Am not happy with that book.

Dionne Lakey

There's a few more Ari and Dante videos coming <3

Jackie-Ross Lavender

It's been the biggest task with this film as it's an independent film. I'm hoping it continues to gain traction!

Jackie-Ross Lavender

Definitely a good thing to do... you will adore the book when you get round to it!

Jackie-Ross Lavender

It used to be one of my go to audition songs!

Jackie-Ross Lavender

As far as the sequel... all we can hope is that streaming numbers are good.

Jackie-Ross Lavender

Logic is on my shelf waiting to be read. Maybe that should be next after Ari and Dante 2!

Jackie-Ross Lavender

iSN'T IT! Shattering but beautiful. I adore these boys so much!

Jackie-Ross Lavender

November <3

Jackie-Ross Lavender

There already is a sequel book and it's gorgeous. Devastating but gorgeous!

Jackie-Ross Lavender

Thank you so much for doing this and for putting it onto YouTube, this film needs all the attention it can get to bring more eyes to it. I am so behind in my viewing, haven't watched anything this week as I'm on holiday but I had to watch this one ❤️

Audrey Gunn

It was a lovely film and I hope it gets more attention. It (unfortunately but not surprisingly) had a very short release and no promotion in my region, and the closest place to see it was 90 minutes away.

Rowan Cannell

Agreed, but definitely worth the time

Kurt Anderson

I liked The Inexplicable…but it did not pull at my heart like The Aristotle and Dante books…

Erin

Totally agree!

Erin

I have a copy of the book, but I have been waiting to read it until I can see the movie. That worked for me with RWRB, and I would always rather see a movie and enjoy it, then read the book, than read a book that I love and then be disappointed by the movie. So I’m hoping the movie does come to a streaming service that I have so I can watch it.

Lane Wright

As I said I think in the Discord, it was a wonderful movie, I wish I had followed my impulse to buy a ticket the the showing following mine, as it was only playing in my area that one week. I cried a lot (good tears) it could have been longer, but the heart of the story is there. I really loved it!

Erin

Out There from Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my favorite songs! I was so happy when I found a version in my key to sing ☺️ Cannot wait to see this movie. Loved both books and am looking forward to watching your reaction

Laurie Barber

I loved the movie (although it’s about 30 minutes too short) and I would love to see the sequel but given the tepid box office numbers I don’t know if it will ever happen. If you haven’t read it yet The Inexplicable Logic of My Life Also by Benjamin Alire Sáenz is definitely worth reading

Kurt Anderson

I was waiting for this one. Thank you, Jackie. ♥️ As far as we now from interviews, reviews and people who have already watched the film the main complaint is the length. We have to take into account it is an independent production that took nearly 7 years to be brought to life. The casting is amazing. There are few changes from the book but all apparently justified. Benjamin has said just good things about it. I am really excited! I am definitely in for a sequel! ♥️

Ingrid Machado Pena

Yay! Thrilled to see this notification and really looking forward to watching this later tonight! 🎉👏 Thank you! For anyone who’s dubious about reading the second book, Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World, I can reassure you that it’s completely wonderful and I at least found it a very healing read.

Graham & Ruth May

Don't know when we'll see this movie here in the uk! It's been out for so long - I really need it to come here

Dionne Lakey

Personally don't want there to be a sequel because that book was way too sad. In my opinion Ari and Dante's story ends with book 1

Dionne Lakey

Hunchback is my FAVORITE musical ❤️

Michael D

You can’t go wrong with Lin-Manuel.

Diane Furlong

If you haven’t listened to the audiobook of this book and the sequel, you really should. It’s a wonderful story, and Lin-Manuel Miranda narrating it is perfection.

Sam S

Okay, I literally just cried through that trailer. I’m sort of surprised at how emotional that made me, but it was just so beautiful! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I love this book, and I now can’t wait to see the full movie. I was hopeful that with Lin involved it would be good, but I was still so, so nervous. In sort of the same way that I was for RWRB, as I felt it needed to be a series rather than the movie, as some of the nuances were lost in trying to make it fit a movie timescale. That really is my only remaining concern about this film…

Sam S

Looks like a beautiful story. Thanks for this Jackie. I’ve seen posts referring to this upcoming movie but I didn’t know anything else about it. At a quick glance, one of the actors resembled Timothee Chalamet.

Diane Furlong

I love this book, and I really hope the film does the book justice!! 🫣😬🤞🏻
