Welcome back to another video and to a video I've been wanting to make for a while. I will definitely be making a bunch of Ari and Dante content in the lead up to the film being released! I want to do my bit in raising awareness for this film so we can hopefully get the sequel made!

It is so frustrating that beautiful queer stories like this get little to no coverage and struggles to find distributors, It is by far one of my favorite books (the second book too) of recent years.

That worked for me with RWRB, and I would always rather see a movie and enjoy it, then read the book, than read a book that I love and then be disappointed by the movie. So I’m hoping the movie does come to a streaming service that I have so I can watch it.

2023-10-13 18:35:32 +0000 UTCAs I said I think in the Discord, it was a wonderful movie, I wish I had followed my impulse to buy a ticket the the showing following mine, as it was only playing in my area that one week. I cried a lot (good tears) it could have been longer, but the heart of the story is there. I really loved it!

If you haven’t read it yet The Inexplicable Logic of My Life Also by Benjamin Alire Sáenz is definitely worth reading

We have to take into account it is an independent production that took nearly 7 years to be brought to life. The casting is amazing. There are few changes from the book but all apparently justified. Benjamin has said just good things about it. I am really excited! I am definitely in for a sequel! ♥️

For anyone who’s dubious about reading the second book, Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World, I can reassure you that it’s completely wonderful and I at least found it a very healing read.

I love this book, and I now can’t wait to see the full movie. I was hopeful that with Lin involved it would be good, but I was still so, so nervous. In sort of the same way that I was for RWRB, as I felt it needed to be a series rather than the movie, as some of the nuances were lost in trying to make it fit a movie timescale. That really is my only remaining concern about this film…
