Situation with Bytes

Okay, good afternoon everybody. So apparently...my 1st Bytes is doing absolutely terrible when it comes to views and reception by YT's algorithm because of course it is. I have no idea why this is happening, and I have no idea what I did wrong but it is completely killing my morale.

As I speak, the 1st Byte video sits as the worst episode of something I've done right now for the past 2 years or so. Somehow EP6 Part 2's trailer (something that took 2 days) and the 3rd Q&A Highlights (something that took hours) are doing BETTER than an ACTUAL ANIMATED EPISODE that took me 2 full weeks to finish. Let that sink in for a minute.

Obviously, I'm not going to be all smiles, laughs and jokes about this, and quite frankly I'm getting absolutely sick of being this way about everything that goes wrong on Blackimus. If you want full transparency, this is it right here. I'm not happy about this and I'm expressing it here for now, so you can see that not everything I do is a sea of roses with no issues whatsoever. The animator life is NOT easy at all and this right here that I just showed is probably a big reason why many, many fellow animators just quit.

However, I'm not quitting. Bytes of Life isn't getting cancelled but I will soon have to make changes about this. The good ol' algorithm is probably assuming that I'm making something entirely "new", right? That seems fair - but giving me a reception as if I were getting nearly the same results when I started 3 years ago isn't fair in the slightest. I don't want to be that guy, but I got 113k subscribers as I speak. In what world would a brand new video's performance make logical sense to be this way with a presumably "established" channel like mine?

Maybe I should've thought twice before making a new series? I have no idea what's going on, but whoever's fault this is, I know for sure it ain't mine because I know did my part right, but this just horrifies me because of Capsters' future - the Scratched Universe side series I'm doing next.

FUTURE CHANGES FOR BYTES OF LIFE

I sincerely have no hopes that this video will somehow blow up weeks later after it died in the water for the first 2 days of its existence, so I'm making some changes about this soon. I don't know when.

At this moment I have two possible changes. One noticeable change and one drastic change.

1ST CHANGE

Name change.

"Bytes of Life" gets switched to "Slice of Life: Bytes" so maybe the algorithm can actually work with me.

2ND CHANGE

Bytes of Life fuses with Slice of Life.

This means you technically get 2x more SoL Episodes: a big one when it's a SoL one, and a small one when it's technically time to develop a Byte. Bytes of Life stops being its own independent mini series. (Probably what I should've done from the start now that I've experienced this situation)

CLOSING WORDS

I apologize if this spoiled your impressions of me, since you've seen a more negative side of me, but I can't really keep it all quiet any longer. This is a problem that needed to be talked about. I can't pretend everything is okay.

I also apologize if you were one of the very very few people - apparently, according to YouTube, that cared about the idea of having Bytes of Life be its own independent thing, but it seems that I can't do that.

Again, I highly doubt the 1st Bytes video is going to blow up in views somehow, but if by some miracle it happens, then good for me I guess.
