I agree. I would go as far as to rate it slightly lower at a 7.5. Although it's well made with some impressive filmmaking, to me, watching this film felt like eating a gourmet meal of empty calories. But I still enjoy and appreciate it nonetheless. It's been a few years since I watched it so maybe it's time for a rewatch.

2022-04-06 04:44:49 +0000 UTCI was blown away by this film when I saw it in the theatre in 2011 but I haven't watched it since until your reaction. All I really remembered was Ryan Gosling and the 'vibe' of the film. I forgot about how violent it is!
