Shortly before this year's Grapple Day, an "anonymous" "sex tape" was "leaked" that seems to feature one of this year's competitors. You'll notice I make liberal use of quote marks here, since right from the start, a lot of things in this story don't add up.
While my own journalistic integrity doesn't permit me to speculate on the subject of the alleged sex tape, people have been calling the event SophieLeaks, so, like, take a wild fucking guess who's involved.
If the tape was actually released without the permission of the participant, it would be a major scandal. You might think the Edmund Grapple bros are savages—I certainly do—but there's honor among thieves. This leak—if it is a leak—is the sort of breach of trust that would imperil the whole Grapple Day enterprise, severing the contract between audience and participant, and possibly drawing unwanted outside attention to the event.
Is someone trying to bring the Grapple Day tournament down this year? Perhaps, but I have a different theory that I intend to look investigate...
