Oh Kali. Kali, Kali, Kali. I think you knew on some level it was a bad idea to mess with Sam. You knew you were poking the hornet's nest... but you couldn't help yourself.
I can almost sympathize. For the first 20-some years of your life, everything went more or less as you wanted. You knew Sam presented an insurmountable challenge, but you've overcome plenty of "insurmountable" challenges before, thanks to your dad's fortune. You probably expected things with Sam would just work out, just like so many things have magically worked out for you in the past.
I wonder how it felt kneeling there, your arms tied back by your ripped-off shirt, your mouth gagged by your own underwear and bra. Were you totally humiliated (did you enjoy it?), or did a part of you cling on to that invincible feeling—that this was only a temporary setback, something that didn't even matter, and that at the end of the day, the great Kali Chand still always got what she wanted?
