So years ago, I had the opportunity to work with one of my favorite authors of all gay time. I was lucky enough to illustrate for two of his books and told him I would love to turn a story of his into a little comic book someday. He sent me an unfinished short story one day and I proceeded to spend the next three years working on it. I’ve got 107 pages of one of the saddest little gay love stories ever all drawn out and inked but unfortunately it wont ever get published. These are sketches and of the main characters Jay and Kerry. The first one I drew because I wanted them to have a moment that they never got in their story. I cried every time I read the script. Every time. So I had to draw it for me.
Someday I might share the full thing. To be honest im still pretty devastated that it got scraped in the end so I havent looked at it much in the last few years. But I learned a lot about making comics from it which I am grateful for. So please be kind to little scarred and traumatized Kerry and his best friend Jay. They loved each other more than they were ever able to admit, but were lucky enough to grow up together.
