It’s been a rocky start of the year, to say the least. Health setbacks aside, we are finally back on track and have been hard at work on SOT.
It’s crazy to think we initially thought this would be a simple, short project. I guess it still is - more than anything else we’d come up with initially at least-, yet attention to detail continues to be our best friend and enemy. Despite this, I believe we have found ways to deal with burnout and productivity that have been working out quite well.
- Getting organized. We’re not perfect, sure, but we have been more or less keeping up with our calendar so far, and having a visual representation of our deadlines and products sure helps make it feel all the more “real”.
- Multitasking. Jumping from scripting to choosing a mouse pointer to changing a character’s outfit to writing a snippet to discussing other visual novels is a great way to continue working while avoiding burnout.
- Playing. On that topic, I’ve been exploring more visual novels than ever lately, of different sorts and genres. I’ll still count that as working on ours because there is lot to be learned from them!
With a new year ahead, and exactly one year since we came together to create GGS, I think we now want to have a finished product more than ever.
