We made it to the BeanFish cart, and all was wonderful. I was greedy and got two, the basic Anko filling and a cream filling. Both were a delight. Victor got some abomination stuffed with Fruity Pebbles, but wotcha gonna do? Kids today. Get off my lawn.
Earlier in the day we got very adventurous and Victor and I walked down to Ballard. We stopped at Kangaroo and Kiwi for lunch, and Phil and Alex drove down and joined us. It was my first restaurant meal in over a year and a half. I'm still staying out of restaurants, but K&K has very nice outdoor seating. It's good to have a place to get savory pies, they're not usually as easily come by as I'd like. I really enjoy our trips to countries where they are more of a thing.
I stopped at all the Little Free Libraries along the way and picked up the fifth Dorothy Dunnett Lyman book. At first, I didn't realize it was the fifth in a series, but that's all right because we actually have the first one: The Game of Kings, at home. So I'm starting there. My friend Carol has told me for years that they're really good and that she read all of Dunnett's work when she was a teenager, so I'm looking forward to them.
I want to make a Little Free Library of my own, but it'll have to wait until I've got a bit more free time. I'm still dredging out the Crates of Lurking Dread that form whenever I have to clean my desk quickly. I have a few that are YEARS old and it makes me a bit sick to think of what's in there. Mail I haven't answered, things I should have taken care of, lost pieces of broken things...ugh. I'm trying to work through them and get the place cleaned up. They aren't good for my mental state. I'm trying to see them as something like World of Warcraft quests, and that's helping.
I am of course also still working on Kickstarter stuff!
