We're having an uncharacteristic heat wave here in Seattle. Parts of the house are fine, the rooms we work in are relentlessly hot. I bought a couple of cheapo fans a couple of months ago, but later, when they're available again, I'll spring for a little air conditioner. This probably isn't the last uncomfortable heat wave we're going to get. Usually just leaving the windows open is all we need. I hope everyone in the warmer parts of the city is doing all right.

We took a walk after the sun went down, the neighborhood is beautiful in the dark. The warm air carries the scents of all the plants and flowers in the yards and it's gorgeous.

Because the sun is out and it's so hot, I've pulled out a couple of projects that require drying time. I used the pressure washer I got last year to scrub an old rug and a couple of other garage sale finds. I also worked on detoxing and washing the chair cushions the cat peed on when he got locked in Phil's office. I think I'm going to have a bit of a burn on my shoulders tomorrow when I wake up.
