Agree with the other replies here. I love my best friend and tell her so on a regular basis; we are both girls. We're comfortable sleeping in the same bed and getting dressed around each other and have been since...kindergarten or so. I get a lot of the same feeling from Agatha and Zeetha as I do from my friend and me. (That being said, it makes me very happy that Agatha can and will so freely say "I love you" to her best friend and have that received as it's meant. I am here for that.)

In the Army, I was with guys close to 24/7 including time off pursuing the opposite sex. In sports, you hear people saying "I love these guys" referring to team mates, but definitely not mates otherwise. It is close, personal, "I got your back", but definitely not sexual.

Beautiful page. Usually what jumps out from a GG page is its contribution to the plot, not the art for its own sake. But this is wonderful. Like the one where Lars dies, although a very different style of beauty. Only, those smiles in the fourth panel are scary. Snacky's point wasn't exactly about keeping Albia company, though. He wanted her dead. So this is a funny (peculiar) way for Agatha to express herself. Otoh, we should remember that Albia herself predicted Agatha would again glance into the infinite.

I dunno, "you're my teacher" isn't the first thing I'd think of to say to someone I loved in that sense. But I admit I've long felt that Gil and Tarvek should marry each other.

Doesn't Zeetha say it when she has her "connection" sessions with Higgs? I have a memory of her with her eyes closed, concentrating, saying "I. Love. You." and Higgs getting the feeling at the other hand, if not the words themselves.

I'm about 85% sure this is the only time The Three Little Words have actually been said in the comic. The Boyfriends are all action and makeouts and science, ZeeHiggs is all fighting and loyalty, but this. This is the one and only explicit verbal statement of love. anyway, there is no heterosexual explanation for any of this page

Have to admit, I was reeeeeeeeally hoping Agatha wasn't thinking in this direction yet. Dammit. She climbed up there once, she found out she could do it again, did I really think a Spark of her abilities would forget that sort of power is out there within her reach. Of course not. Agatha. Agatha, no. This way lies badness. This is probably the same path your mother was on, and it didn't end well (and is, I guess, still in the middle of not ending well).
