Hello again!

I think they should take the booze away from the Professoressa, but nobody listens to me.

I asked Phil why the Professor was still wearing his hat indoors, and he pointed out that it's a Jäger's party, so of course everyone is wearing a hat? I guess that makes sense.

So about fifteen or so years ago, Payne told us about the Namahage, a scary Japanese oni who goes from door to door during New Year's to ask if the children inside have been being good and doing their homework. We thought that sounded exactly like the sort of thing that would go on in Mechanicsburg, and we started to think about this story. It has changed a lot over the years. Then we learned about Krampusnacht* and we were even more delighted. It turns out people really like to put on scary masks, riot around in the streets, and terrify children. I can get behind that.

*This was a long time ago, remember. Old Krampus has now been a bit done to death here in the world of USA pop culture, and that's too bad. We decided to just do this story anyway.

We're aware of the art mistake on the previous page, by the way, but Phil is going to have to go back in and redraw the hair on the lower left panel, so we'll see how long it takes us to fix that.
