Chapter 29: The Return Of The Kingpin
With Trix’s approval to move forward with this idea, Cynthia went solo and hit the dark streets of the city on her own.
Her goal? Searching for Joss on her own, so she could hopefully convince him to join them on this strange and dangerous plan. But she was thinking too far ahead at the moment and for now, the only thing that she should be worried about right now was to locate and hunt Joss down.
This was all that mattered.
Now, ordinarily when attempting to locate a target, the key to the game was patience. Cynthia knew this. She had understood for a long time that patience was the key, and this was what she typically did, but this time, the detective had no patience whatsoever. This time, she was interested in locating her target as soon as possible.
Thankfully for her sake, she knew exactly where to look.
She thought she knew exactly where to look for Joss first and that location was none other than the homeless district of the city. Joss was homeless now and she had met with him a couple of times over there. She deeply hoped that this was going to be the case once more.
When Cynthia arrived in this poor district, she came across a lot of people, men and women, but no sign of Joss at first. This didn’t mean that she going to give up anytime soon.
She was still searching for him.
Cynthia had a feeling that he wasn’t that far from her, but it was up to her to find him.
She thought for sure that she was making progress in tracking him in the dark streets of the district until…
“THIEF!” A woman shouted that word and then the very next second, Cynthia witnessed a cloaked man running away from a crowd of people. Well, this had to be the thief that this woman shouted about just now. The tall and cloaked figure ran toward her and it was just about to run into her.
Do you mean that I can stop a thief? How about that… Cynthia thought and she smiled when she realized that she could stop something bad from happening and she was going to do it. Instead of moving away from this running man, she stood firm and she never bulged.
“MOVE!” The cloaked man shouted, but she still didn’t bulge.
“NO!” Cynthia replied.
The man who was running away was carrying a large crate in his hands.
“DINOSAUR SPIRIT—DILOPHOSAURUS!” Cynthia activated her dinosaur spirit and her animal instinct kicked in! Using her dinosaur strength, she was able to form a wall before the crook to stop him as he tried passing.
At first, the thief in question probably thought for sure that he was going to be able to push her aside quite easily, but this was not what Cynthia had in mind for it to happen, at all…
When the crook came up to her, she had her dinosaur skills to endure the hit and to stop him.
What ended up happening was her mostly stopping the thief using her massive tits and he bounced back, stopped in his tracks and he couldn’t progress any further.
“You are not going anywhere,” Widdowfield declared to that mysterious woman.
When the crook was bounced off of her because of her ample and huge breasts, the hood that he wore accidentally came off. It was pulled during contact and it was instantly revealed that this man was Cynthia’s favourite frog-dinosaur dude all along—Joss.
“Joss! Just the one I was looking for… How perfect?” she mentioned.
“Cynthia?” Joss cocked his head, visibly not expecting to run into her while he was in the middle of doing crimes.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Cynthia interrogated him, folding her arms together.
“You…” It was like Joss couldn’t believe that she was here.
“What did you steal anyway?” This was what Cynthia was most curious about, so what she did next was grab the box that he held in his slimy hands and she opened it—the content of the box was not what she expected, at all—the inside of the box was filled with leaves. Delicious-looking leaves, too. “What is this all about?” Cynthia asked him.
“Give it back!” He told her.
“What are they for? I don’t remember you being an herbivore or anything like that…”
“It’s not for me, it’s for them…” Joss recovered the box of leaves and brought the leaves to a dark alleyway where he fed a few baby brontosaurus who had nothing else to eat. He fed them the leaves.
“Joss…”
Um… I better pay the woman he stole these fresh and highly nutritious leaves from… So, this was exactly what she went to do…
A short while later, Widdowfield was finally able to sit down with Joss in that warehouse where he continued to live for the time being.
“I never took you for someone who had a heart, and now you’re taking care of baby dinosaurs?”
“Well, yeah, don’t say that to everybody, okay? I have a reputation to maintain and stuff, you know?” Joss, the one who had become a homeless man said to her. At this point, his reputation was the least of his worries, but, of course, he pretended it wasn’t the case, but Cynthia knew better.
“Joss—I need you.”
These four words she said took him by surprise. She could tell this was the last thing he expected to hear at that moment.
He slowly looked up at her after feeding the dinosaurs he cared for…
“Can you say that again?”
“I’m not kidding. I need you.”
“And what the hell would you ever need me for? Don’t tell me that you help me figure out who this amber murderer is?”
“No! I already got that one all figured out!” Cynthia shouted in the dark and wet alleyway, excited to tell him that she found out who the killer was especially after she and he were toe-to-toe with the amber murderer once before she left the city to go on this investigation.
“And who did it?”
“You are not going to believe it…”
