Today is Werewolf Wednesday!
It's time to howl at the moon!
Chapter 4: Moon Watch Report
Toward the end of the night, right before dawn, Hunter and Maleva concluded their evening on moon watch and returned to Cherrywood.
The first place they both went to together was the town hall.
The head of the village received them in her office.
It was time for the moon watch report as it was always done after the end of a single night.
The current mayor and head of Cherrywood was none other than Aurora—Maleva’s grandmother.
Aurora and Maleva were not bound by blood by any means, but she was still her grandmother, but she looked nothing like one. Aurora still looked like she was in her late thirties or early forties.
Hunter knocked on the door leading to her office after they arrived in town.
“Enter…” And then they heard Aurora’s voice on the other side…
The report to Aurora—the head of the village went smoothly, which was quite surprising considering what happened tonight.
Hunter fully expected her to react a little more shockingly and disappointed with the turns of the event, but no, it was almost like she knew these soldiers would show up at their door sooner or later…
“So, that’s it, huh?” Lady Aurora, the gorgeous and thick MILF with the glacial white hair replied to them after the conclusion of their report. She stood leaning against her desk with her arms crossed together.
“‘That’s it’? What do you mean, ‘that’s it’, grandma? We were attacked. We took care of it, but don’t you think it is strange that imperial forces like them were in the woods—our woods? If you had heard what they talked about when we first spotted them…” Maleva shouted at her in her office, behaving a lot more nervous than her youthful and sensual grandmother ever did.
“Hm. I hear you,” Aurora, meanwhile, was the definition of calm and collected. “Now, I would like to hear what Hunter thinks about all of this.”
After thinking for a bit, the man spoke up and responded to the request for him to speak by the elder. Giving her a small bow, he smiled and looked into the eyes of Aurora.
“I believe that it is concerning. Considering what we heard the men speaking of, that this order was from the prince, I am more concerned. This will likely not be the only group sent after us as a result. And that is what I fear the most.” His voice was slightly wary, but he knew he had to stay strong. Something about this was odd, but for right now, they were safe.
“I see… Thank you for giving me your opinion—the both of you…” Aurora set her pen down and let the report’s ink dry.
The moon watch report was a crucial part of the process.
The head of the village needed to know everything to be in a position to make the right decisions for the greater good of everyone.
“I don’t get it—you’re so much softer on him than you are on me, Grandma!” Maleva was certainly frustrated by the fact that she seemed more attentive to him and easy on him.
“Oh, no, that’s not true, sweetheart!” Aurora slowly stepped toward her granddaughter, smiling, and patting her on the head. “I’m simply a little more demanding of you, that’s all and I know how much more headstrong you are as opposed to someone such as… Hunter let’s say. You two work incredibly well together and I wouldn’t want any other way,” she reassured her.
“Whatever!” Maleva frowned.
“Oh! She’s quite headstrong! Is this how you’d imagine she’d end up, Aurora?” This time, it was a different voice that was heard within Aurora’s office, one that was a lot more high-pitched and easily recognizable. It was Lycanna’s voice.
Lycanna was a short wolf lady.
She had been sitting in a chair right behind Aurora, hidden away all this time, but no more!
“Lycanna, I don’t need you to jump in, okay?” Maleva shut her down right away before she could say anything else.
Hunter couldn’t help but laugh at the sudden shutdown of the appearance of the other woman. Coming over, he would place a hand on Maleva’s shoulder. Gently squeezing and rubbing it at the same time to help calm her, or at least he hoped.
“Maleva, that’s not a bad thing. Being headstrong can be a good quality if you know how to manage it. Though…” he leaned in a little more to her and got close to her ear, “If you want, we can go and blow off a little steam together. I know we had to go quickly earlier.”
“There he goes again,” Lycanna rolled her eyes so hard, her head followed, “always thinking with his dick... Let me guess, you’ll be thinking with his dick, too? He doesn’t have enough blood for three heads, you know…”
Maleva spun on her heel, glaring at Lycanna.
“Lay off. Hunter doesn’t need some desperate hellhound yapping at his heels.”
“Why not?” Lycanna tilted her head, completely undaunted. “Scared of some competition?” Don’t worry, you will still be able to see him after I have my fun.”
“Okay. Enough. Hunter. Mind bringing this parcel to Catherine? She’s in the church,” Aurora broke out of the battle and headed a large parcel to him.
“Sure, thing, ma’am!” Hunter accepted right away.

Later at the church, Hunter opened the heavy front doors, carrying the parcel inside only to be welcomed by an abnormally dark ambiance within the holy place.
He looked around the space, the echoes of his footsteps being the only response.
The emptiness here felt odd to him. Very rarely did the nun decide to leave this place alone. Still, he had a package to deliver to someone...
“Hello? Is there anyone here? I’m looking for Catherine. Got a package for her.” He called out into the dark, hoping that someone would hear him and give him any sort of response.
…
With no response, Hunter invited himself further into the church. He searched for Catherine for many minutes before eventually finding her…
… The red-haired nun was sleeping.
“Catherine!”
She had fallen asleep while cleaning the church—the church she was now in charge of.
Hunter picked her up from the floor while she was asleep and brought her into the bedroom of the establishment, so she could rest in a real bed.
Hunter left the parcel next to her on a nearby table.
He was supposed to leave without looking inside the parcel, but curiosity got the best of him and he took a little innocent peek inside the box…
The content of the parcel was surprisingly a set of keys.
Oh! Those are the keys to the church! So, that must mean that Aurora finally found them for Catherine! It was about time! Hunter thought.
