Harvesting The Witch Queen - Chapter 302: Icy Tension

Chapter 302: Icy Tension

Jack and September’s return to Winter Province and December’s dark and frozen castle were met with a lot of tension right off the bat.

The reason for this was that the gates of the castle were wide open when they arrived. The gates had been burst open. Someone invited themselves inside.

Upon discovering this, Jack and September rushed inside without saying a word. Jack knew that they didn’t say anything. They understood what might have happened and there was no time to chat. It was instead time to act.

Jack ran inside the frozen castle and he was followed by September who rode her wicked and flying broomstick!

Mere seconds after they had both entered the castle, The Autumn Witch quickly and easily overcame her Minotaur guardian and went ahead.

September was the first to arrive on the scene within the castle.

When Jack joined her by running as fast as he could, this led him into the dining room of the castle. To his shock, both April and June had been frozen alive and December was held hostage by a tall and monstrous creature. The monster was an ice golem. He was without a doubt the one who burst open the gates of her castle.

“Jack… September…” December whispered their names. December couldn’t speak much since the ice golem held her from behind, grabbing her by the throat.

This doesn’t make any sense—how was December attacked by an ice-type creature? Isn’t she supposed to be able to control anything made of ice? How was placed in such a dangerous position to begin with while we were aware? I guess we shouldn’t have gone on this little nightly excursion, after all… Jack thought to himself, slightly becoming a little more suspicious of the ice witch herself, not that he didn’t take this dangerous situation she was in wasn’t serious. He took it seriously, but still with a lot of suspicions, though…

“Let go of her, right now,” the Minotaur guardian commanded the ice golem, unsure if it was even able to comprehend what he was saying to begin with.

“Jack… I’ll cast a curse spell on the golem, in the meantime, can you promise me you’ll keep him busy, but that you won’t attack him yet? We don’t want him to hurt her, right…?” September let him know about her plan…

“I cannot promise you anything,” he told her the truth.

“That’s reassuring…”

“I’ll do my best, okay?” He let her know.

“I believe you… So, let’s do this…” the witch sneaked her way away from her guardian and prepared herself to cast a spell on the ice golem…

“Hey, you stupid golem! Look this way! I’m the only other monster around here, I know you want me and if you need to prove that you’re a strong guy, I’m your man!” Jack immediately took matters into his own hands and moved away from his Witch Queen to create some sort of distraction or diversion on the other side of the dining room.

He didn’t honestly believe it would work, but it did, surprisingly enough.

The ice golem turned to him and while he hadn’t let December go, his attention was entirely focused on the Minotaur guardian, so this left a direct opportunity for September to strike!

Jack only saw her from the corner of his eye, but the Autumn spellcaster raised her wooden staff way high in the air and then it was only a matter of seconds before she exercised one of her abilities on the target…

“Autumn… Prison!” A beam of red energy suddenly burst out of the tip of her staff and hit the ice golem on the head, but never touched nor affected December. Jack was both glad and reassured that September had a pretty good aim.

The beam of red energy shifted into a coat of wind surrounding the body of the frozen creature, immobilizing and restraining him while December moved aside, finally freeing herself.

December was free.

This was exactly what Jack had been hoping for.

Now that she was free, nothing was holding him back… Jack rushed to the ice golem with a savage might, intending to destroy the fucker for what he had done. He was ready to smash it to smithereens, well, that was until September stopped him at the last second by whistling at it, stopping him and holding him off like a dog.

“One second!” September then shouted!

He listened to her. He froze.

“What is it?” He asked her, turning his head to her.

“I neutralized him. There’s no need to destroy him, now. We’d better keep him alive and try to find out who summoned this golem. We can find out who did this,” the witch declared to him.

“Yeah, but that’s a lot less fun than smashing him to pieces, right?”

“Jack…”

“Yeah, yeah, got it…” He listened to her again and he prevented himself from destroying the ice golem.

“MY HERO!” December suddenly jumped into the guardian’s arms. He caught her and carried her around the room because this was exactly what she wanted him to do. It was apparent.

“December. Glad you’re okay.”

“She’s such a slut…” September whispered to herself on the other side of the room.

“What was that?” December heard her.

“Nothing…” September replied, pretending like she had not said anything, but she knew it.

“I should probably free the others, as well…” Jack declared. April and June were still frozen solid yet again. It was about time to help them, too, otherwise, they were going to be there for the rest of the night and the night was not young since September and Jack had spent most of it making love.

“I mean, you can leave them like that for a little while longer…” December suggested.

“Are you out of your mind? They’ll freeze to death!” September argued with her, as she had done a lot since they initially met her.

“What is your problem, Autumn Witch?” December nonchalantly asked her.

“What is my problem? My problem is that the only thing you care about is yourself and spending some alone time with Jack!”

“Says the one who stole him this same night to have sex somewhere else.”

“How do you even know about that?” September interrogated her, shouting while doing so.
