Vol. 4 - Chapter 7: Striking A Deal With A Monster
Later, the three of them went upstairs in the shit-hole, where she found the frog Saurius. They all sat together. It was time to make that deal they had been talking about earlier downstairs.
“I can’t believe we are doing this. I can’t believe you are doing this. This is nuts,” Quentin confronted Cynthia one more time.
“I’m just taking advantage of a perfect situation. That’s all.”
“Taking advantage of a situation? That’s all?”
“So, let’s start talking about it… Shall we? What do you want in exchange for not telling Richard or anyone else about me and where I am hiding?” The frog Saurius directly asked her. The three of them were sitting on the ground, on pillows. It wasn’t that comfortable, but someone such as Joss saw this hideout as the one of the most comfortable and pleasant place in the entire world. Especially after spending so much time in prison. This felt like Heaven compared to prison, and it wasn’t complicated to understand why. Cynthia more or less recently had the same experience. Except that she didn’t escape prison. She won her freedom by climbing up the ladder, up the different and dangerous levels of the prison tower. The two of them had walked on a similar path, but it wasn’t exactly the same. There was a feeling of understand in the air already.
“A thousand primal pieces. A week,” she announced to him.
What is she talking about? This can’t be… Quentin thought.
“Cyn! You are not serious, I hope!” Quentin said out loud.
A thousand primal pieces a week? Joss asked himself.
“Both of you heard me right…” Cynthia said to them.
“Blue Heart. There is no way I can afford this amount of money. Primal pieces are the most expensive currency. It’s too much.”
“Well, too bad for you, I’m going to tell Richard right now, then,” Cynthia replied to him as she stood up in the middle of the room. She was already planning to go back downstairs when the frog Saurius suddenly grabbed her right hand, holding her a bit longer.
“Please, no… I want my freedom. I want my life back. I’ll do it. I promise I’ll do it. I’ll find the primal pieces for you.”
“Get your disgusting hand off of me!” She lashed out at him.
“Y-yes, my bad, I’m sorry, Blue Heart,” he let go of her. Quentin stood up in the room at first. He dangerously came close to push Joss right in the face for touching the woman he adores so much. The woman he wished in a more seriously relationship. Or the woman he wished he was in any kind of relationship with, to be honest. Purely sexual or more than that, even if possible one day…
“You just said that you couldn’t afford my price. What suddenly makes you say you can do it, now? Why the sudden change of heart, huh?” As a decent detective, she was suspicious of him.
“I will try making the money. I know a way. I know a way.”
“Cyn. We are wasting our time here. He is not going to be able to jack-shit. We should go. Come on,” Quentin told her.
“I don’t know, yet. Quentin. Go downstairs. Go outside. Wait for me. There is a certain something I need to do here.”
“Say what? I’m not leaving you here alone. No way.”
“Go outside. Wait for me. I’ll be out with you in a minute.”
“Very well,” it hurt him to accept this. “But be quick. Okay?”
“Yes. That’s exactly what I just said. Go on now.” she replied.
“Alright…” Quentin, who was still uncertain about all of this, regarding the risks of leaving her alone with a vile creature such as him, but chose to trust her. As he always did before. He nodded and left through the door before climbing back downstairs. His footsteps could be heard for a long time until he finally left the place. After he did, Cynthia shut the door of the room, catching Joss by surprise. He wasn’t expecting her to do something like this. He raised one eyebrow. He would if he had any. The frog Saurius was still down on the ground, sitting on a dirty pillow, while Cynthia stood tall in the room. She turned around, facing the frog Saurius. Stepping closer.
“What are you doing? Why shut the door?” He asked her.
“Because we are going to have a little talk. A heated one.”
“In what way? Am I supposed to be scared right now?”
“We’ll see… Look. Let’s call a a raptor, a raptor. You are a piece of shit. You deserve to be in a jail for the rest of your days, of worst. If I was doing the right thing, you’d be in jail already. The way you treated the personnel of your old strip-club… It was always awful working for you. You are a disgusting monster who constantly took advantage of people. And while you deserve to be in jail. I also feel like there is something more appropriate to do with you, instead. If you have to provide that many primal pieces to me, weekly, that would mean that you would then be living with next to nothing. Worst quality of life that you’d have, rotting in jail. If you can believe it.”
“I get that, but that does not explain the reason why you just shut that fucking door. Are you intending on hurting me? Physically?” He asked her, suspicious.
“No,” she stepped closer again. “I’m instead intending on giving you one last show. Simply to remind you what you’ve lost—me as your worker, as your stripper,” she explained to him as she slowly and seductively began stripping for him, unplugging her DNA Valkyrie device. Unplugging her nipples out of her sockets, one by one. Her left nipple was unplugged. “I also wish to remind you that you will never be able to get a stripper or a woman for the rest of your days, because if you come out in public again, you will then be arrested.”
