DNA Valkyrie - Vol. 4 - Chapter 6: Tracking The Frog-Dino

Vol. 4 - Chapter 6: Tracking The Frog-Dino

The monster was out of prison.

He had to be caught again. He was dangerous after all.

“How are we going to do this?” Quentin asked Cynthia.

“He must be here, somewhere, I know it…” She replied.

“Sure, But I am serious. How are we going to hunt him down? There is no telling that he is actually here, and even if he’s here, somewhere, what’s your big plan, exactly?” He asked her. The two ventured into what was considered one of the darkest parts of Ecstasy-City: The black market district. It was rainy tonight. It was raining so much that it was pretty difficult to see and there were so many people out here in the dark street that it was an absolute mess. Humans here in the black market were rare. There were a couple of them there and there but the vast majority of people here were Saurius. Since it was raining so much, both Cynthia and Quentin were wearing thick raincoats. Quentin’s one was gray while Cynthia’s was of a deep blue colour. The two made their way in the crowd people in the street, awkwardly as they were often accidentally bumping into people. Cynthia was at the head of the duo.

“I know what I am doing, Quentin,” she firmly told him.

“Don’t want to sound like a joy-breaker here, but why are even doing this in the first place, huh? I mean, I thought you were done working for Richard, anyway,” Quentin kept confronting her.

“I couldn’t care less about Joss, but Dick just promised me a bunch of money for catching him. I am doing it for the cash. Besides: Who are you to speak, huh? You work for him, as well. You are on his payroll? You don’t have any lessons to give me, mister,” she told him.

“Good point. But why would Richard give a shit about catching Joss in the first place? Why do he need to find him so much?” Quentin desperately tried keeping up with her in the crowd.

“No idea. Yet. No idea, yet. Um… Corporate reasons? I mean. Dick bougth his property. Josss must be mad as all hell. He is probably plotting some kind of revenge on Dick. And Dick is clever enough to know that something might be coming his way. Something like that. But don’t worry, we are about to find out. That way! I found it! Come. Quick. Follow me,” Cynthia sped up a bit. At that moment, Quentin was still attempting to keep up with her, but she was moving so much faster than him. Since he was so much bigger than her, she could sneak around and move between huge Saurius on her way, but no him. He couldn’t do that. So, she always a couple of feet on him. Cynthia nearly never bumped into people compared to him. Rain continued pouring down on everyone in the street.

“You found it? You found what, Cyn?” He demanded to her,

“I knew I’d find you here…” Quentin barely hasd enough time to catch up with Cynthia as he heard say this. By that time, Cynthia had already peenetrated into an establishment. When Quentin finally caught up with her, he realized that she was standing right before some kind of dark figure. It was Joss. He was badly lit with only a couple of candles illuminating him in the room where he was. Joss was sitting on the ground on top of a cushion. There was a large bowl in front of him: It was a hot pot. A large amount of broth was in the pot with a lot of food in there, meat exclusively due to the fact that Joss was a carnivore. A lot of bugs were floating and cooking in the hot pot. Steam was covering Joss’ face and it was going up.

“Cynthia Widdowfield. Talk about a surprise. I never thought I’d see you, ever again,” the frog-looking dino said to her.

“You look even more like a monster than the last time I saw you. Are you even certain that you are supposed to be a dino?” Cynthis was making a fair point here. While he was indeed a Saurius creature, he didn’t look like he was even remotely related to any dinosaur species she knew or was familiar with. He clearly resembled some kind of frog. Perhaps his ancestral dinosaur species was lost in trasnslation during history through evolution.

“You… Found him? Already?” Quentin was shocked by this. He lost her for two seconds and she had already found him.

“Quentin. I remember you. You used to work for me.”

“Joss,” Quentin didn’t say anything else. He simply nodded.

“How the hell did you get out of prison, uh?” She asked him.

“You know what? They probably didn’t know that there was an opening at the bottom of the pond they let me bath in.”

“It was that easy, huh?” Quentin asked him, furious.

“It was. I assume you are both here to put me back in jail?”

“Yes!” Quentin immediately responded to him.

“No!” Cynthia replied with something a bit different, speaking at the exact, same time as her buddy did, as well.

“What? What are you talking about, Cyn?” He asked her.

“I am not here to put him back in jail,” she explained.

“But why? I don’t understand. You said that earlier.”

“Interesting. What are your true intentions, Blue Heart?”

“Dick offered me a certain amount for bringing you to him. What I am thinking about right now… How much would you offer me, so I don’t bring you to him?” She demanded to him, smirking as she did.

“Are you serious?” Quentin stepped in.

“You are open to a deal?” Joss asked her, curious. Gladly surprised.

“I am.”

“It has been so long since I didn’t see a quality sut up close. You are bringing back so many memories.”

“Is that a good thing?” She asked him.

“Yes.”

“You are not loyal to Richard. You are after your own interests,” Quentin confronted the hotness with the blue hair.

“Always,” she replied to him.
