Love Mermaid - Chapter 13: Library Diary

Chapter 13: Library Diary

I wish I was able to leave this small and lonely town.

This was how this new entry in my diary started this morning.

I sure turned my back on Finn.

Even though, that was not what I personally wanted to do, I knew deep down this was what I had to do, unfortunately.

This weird relationship with the young boy had gone too far, and I didn’t want him to find out about what I truly was. This was too dangerous for him, anyway.

He was just a small boy, after all.

Putting anything more on his shoulders would have been a bad and catastrophic idea.

However, even if I did what I had to do with Finn, on the other hand, I still didn’t want to leave this entire town behind. I liked it here. I even enjoyed and appreciated this stupid job at the local library.

This was where I choose to stay for the time being, until… Until, I eventually had to go back to the ocean permanently…

But in the meantime! There was nothing and no one that could stop me from being human.

Even if this definitely wasn’t going to last forever…

One thing that personally attracted me to this town was… All the young there were around here, quite honestly…

Finn was one of them.

Not the only one of them, but certainly one of them.

Something I surely noticed over the couple of days that I spent in this small and remote town was the fact that there were not a lot of women around here. I saw a couple of them here and there, but there were clearly younger males as opposed to women.

Not something that preoccupied my mind too much, but something I had to mention to myself nonetheless.

Barely a few days after my ‘separation’ from Finn, I was already missing the young guy.

Thankfully, he didn’t come to the library while I was there.

Otherwise, it would have been a bit too awkward for me.

Probably would have also been much too awkward for him, as well. Hence, why he didn’t come

Even though, I was truly tempted to leave this coastal town for good, I still deeply felt like there was a lot to be done there.

I still felt like this was only the beginning of things here.

Now, perhaps I was wrong, but I couldn’t help shake this feeling in me that I had an important task or mission to fulfill here before I left…

Dammit!

I was now becoming to sound like father.

This wasn’t too good, at all.

This was horrible, in fact.

He would always do that: Talking loud and proud about how I had an important mission to fulfill on land! Yeah. I never paid too much attention to what he was saying. This was basically as far as I could remember. As I said, never paid too much attention to my father. Never listened to him too much.

Alright…

So, with the attention to staying a bit longer in town, but still distancing myself from Finn, who I had perhaps seduced a bit too much during the past, few days… I decided to focus my attention on the library as much as possible.

I always liked books, so working in a library was like genuinely a big honor for me.

I took on this job with a lot of care and love. I was going to do everything I could to take care of this small library.

I’ll be the guardian of it for as long as I can!

***

The day went by pretty fast.

I didn’t receive a lot of people coming in, but I still had a lot of work to do with dusting off the place (it was legitimately an ancient library, after all), organizing all the books, ordering books that needed to be ordered, and so much more… The monthly budget for this library was pretty thin, but based on what the owner told me last time I spoke to her: ‘There is always a little bit of money each month to order new books and offer more to read to the wonderful inhabitants of our town…’

That was what she told me last time.

I continued working until the last minute of my shift.

Right before it was time to go, I found a pile of books on a shelf that I had completely forgotten to organize and put away.

I was supposed to do it earlier, but my mind began wandering to different places, I quickly became distracted, and then I went to a different corner of the library to do something else… What was that all about again…?

Umm…

Yes!

I rushed back to my diary on the counter of the library near the entrance to write more of what you are reading right now. That was it. That was not even something that I had anything to do with actual work.

Anyway, right before the end of my shift, I uncovered this messy pile of books on that one shelf.

With a loud sigh, I decided to organize that one last pile before leaving…

It was at that moment that I discovered something in that pile of books that I was not ready for, at all…

The last book at the bottom of the pile was actually that stupid erotic book that Finn borrowed from the library not too long ago.

Exactly as I was desperately attempting to forget all about Finn, this stupid book resurfaced.

It had to be like that, right?

When you are trying so hard to do something, something always screws your plans over.

At this point, it felt like this pile of books would have to wait until tomorrow morning before getting organized…

However, that pirate erotic novel sure came with me.

I brought the book behind the counter of the library and I opened it.

Let’s see what this is all about!

My shift was long over, and yet I was going to take the time to masturbate behind the counter while reading Finn’s book before leaving the library…
