Izanami's Day Off (OC Minionization/MC)

Izanami decides that one day she'll take a break from villainy (mostly to stop Hikari pestering her), but it seems the universe conspires against her - everywhere she goes is already under attack by some villain or other and then Akemi shows up to pursue her self-proclaimed nemesis. Then, Izanami gets the idea to let one problem solve the other...

-----

“I’m glad you decided to take my advice. I’ve kinda been wondering what sort of things you’d do for fun.” Hikari said. “Isn’t it boring just spending every minute you have trying to take over the world or… whatever it is you do now?”

“No. It is not boring. It’s quite enjoyable, actually.” Izanami said stiffly.

“It’s still work though. I like being a magical girl but I don’t run around finding villains to blast to relax!”

“I’m only doing this so you shut up about it.” Izanami insisted.

The switch had gone peacefully, for once; Hikari had spent her whole turn not being captured and converted by a villain. Hikari had given her parents an excuse for the following absence (she’d be out at a training camp!), and then Hikari had gone off somewhere private so Izanami could take over.

The villainess had done exactly that, and after making herself comfortable, Hikari had suggested taking some time off before getting to the villainy. Then again when Izanami refused, and again later on, until finally Izanami agreed to try and relax.

That had been the plan, anyway. What had happened instead was, apparently, the universe deciding that Izanami doesn’t get to have her day off.

First, she’d gone to a dessert shop famous for it’s parfaits; she hadn’t really had any kind of ice cream before; in her world she’d rarely had the opportunity, and in Hikari’s she was always otherwise occupied, and frankly just didn’t care enough (and didn’t have the money… She was a supervillain but that just meant petty thievery, even from Hikari, was beneath her) to make the time. Hikari had, of course, but even sharing sensations, it wasn’t the same as having it herself. But when she’d got there, it had been under assault by what seemed to be a woman made out of melted chocolate.

“Bad luck.” Hikari said. “But it makes sense any sweets type villain would come here. It’s great!”

“Hmph. Inconsiderate. And boring. Points for sticking on theme, but there’s no style to it and no point.” Izanami ducked some incoming chocolate (which hit a bystander and seemed to get to work transforming them), and moved along. “Maybe some reading would be of interest. This world must have produced some decent literature by now.”

Izanami did enjoy reading sometimes. It was a bit slow paced for her but maybe taking it a bit slow was good once in a while. So it’d be nice to look at some books, maybe find a good novel. Or maybe just see how this world differed from her own. She entered the library, but when she went to the counter to speak with the librarian for recommendations, it turned out she’d have no luck there either.

“Hmmm… perhaps, instead of reading...” the librarian started. Izanami noticed a bit of inky black beneath her collar.

“Nevermind, then. Have fun.” Izanami said shortly, turning on her heel and walking out the entrance.

“You could serve me like all the others!” the villainess in disguise finished, launching a jet of black ink at Izanami, which she deflected with a quick magical shield without breaking stride. The disguise had melted away, revealing the pale villainess in what looked like a bodysuit made out of ink.

“I have no interest in being turned into some ink-slime or a bookworm or whatever it is you’re doing.” Izanami said flatly, as she left the inky villain to her rampage.

“Wow, it’s a busy day today.” Hikari said. “I’m kinda surprised you didn’t blast her for the insolence, or whatever it is you’d say.”

“If I must take a day off, I will take it seriously.” Izanami said shortly. “Taking over that neophyte’s operation would be work.”

The next stop was a simple cafe. Surely she could sit down for a cup of tea in peace, couldn’t she? But she didn’t even bother to go inside. Just through the window, she could see the squadron of maids buzzing around a woman in an entirely too frilly dress. She wasn’t a child, she had perfectly functional pattern recognition skills.

“Three for three? Come on, it’s never this busy!” Hikari grumbled. “Why are there so many villains?”

“Matsushita does seem to attract them. The concentration of magical power certainly plays a role, but it is a little baffling that it’s this many.” Izanami shrugged. “Oh well. I suppose my options for relaxation are limited. I didn’t want to anyway.”

“Of course you didn’t. That’s why you sound so disappointed.” Hikari teased.

“I do not sound disappointed.”

“You’re practically pouting.”

“I do not pout!” Izanami snapped.

Izanami turned to go somewhere else - maybe there would be a nice restaurant that wasn’t under the control of a mad chef turning everyone into food, or perhaps she could find a park that wasn’t home to a madwoman trying to “return the city to nature” (in spite of it being an artificial island. Those types were so annoying.) But as she did, she was interrupted once more.

“Halt, in the name of justice!” An annoyingly familiar voice said.

“I’m not in the mood for it, Foster.” Izanami said.

“Just because you’re in civilian clothes doesn’t mean you can hide from the eyes of an experienced magical girl!” Akemi declared. Izanami reluctantly turned to face her - she wasn’t even in magical form yet. She’d clearly been doing something else and only just arrived. “All these villains around here, it must be your doing! You must have teamed up to face me-”

“Listen, girl. I don’t care.” Izanami said. “Usually, I enjoy indulging this. I admit, I have a flair for the dramatic, and you give me something fun to play off of. But I am trying to take a day off here-”

“Oh, you do want to, hmmm~?” Hikari interrupted internally.

“Quiet you.” Izanami responded internally, before continuing externally. “I am trying to take a day off, and nothing is open because of all that. So go do your crap and leave me be.”

“Villains don’t take days off, and neither does justice! I’ll punish you-”

Izanami blasted her. She didn’t wait for her to transform, didn’t make a dramatic spell that took time, just shot a magical blast at her. Boring and probably inefficient, but she just was not in the mood for the usual etiquette. Despite herself, she’d let the frustration get to her.

Of course, even out of magical form, Akemi had some decent protection. Enough that she didn’t just get a hole in her chest at least, instead being sent flying down the street.

Izanami approached her, and as she did, she began to have an idea. “Hmmm… maybe I can have my day off. Hikari, I’m borrowing something of yours.” she said inside her head.

“Huh? What do you mean?” Hikari asked.

“If you’re not going to use it, I might as well.” she said.

She put a hand on Akemi’s chest. The young woman groaned. “What do you think you’re… unhand me, villain- ah!”

The magical girl’s protest was cut off as she felt something coming from Izanami. Power. Magical power and a lot of it.

The transformation was quick - particularly because it had been done to her before. It was like something out of a tv show. Her civilian clothes vanished, leaving her momentarily nude (though covered in enough light nobody could see that), before new ones flashed into existence. First was a frilly blouse, with puffed out shoulders and conforming to her figure. It seemed to have been made from those normal clothes, starting out a bright blue - but a wave of magic washed over it as it turned to a hot pink, accented with black. The sleeves extended down her arms, with a black lacy trim, ending in the accompanying gloves.

As the transformation continued, she found herself compelled to twirl and wink at a nonexistent camera, posing for each part of the outfit forming. It really was like some magical girl tv show, and she was forced to act like it. That was strange - Izanami didn’t really seem the type for that.

The next was the skirt (the blouse ended a bit short, baring some of her midriff), which followed much the same tune. She usually preferred shorts, much more practical, but what she got was an elaborate poofy skirt that flared out nearly as far as she could extend her arms, and fell down to just above her knees. Like her new blouse it began blue and transitioned to pink-and-black, a style mimicked as stockings formed on her legs and stylish shoes with impractically high heels that somehow didn’t mess with her balance at all.

As the transformation finished, Akemi felt… good. Powerful. She landed on her feet, and pointed the heart-shaped wand that had formed in her hands at Izanami. “I don’t know what that was, but it seems you’ve only made me powerful enough to beat you!”

“Hey! I don’t want to use that kind of power-” Hikari complained.

“You’re not. But I am.” Izanami said simply. She looked at Akemi. “If you’re going to be like that…” she snapped a finger.

In front of Akemi’s face, a half-mask formed, the same bright pink shade as the rest of her. Before she could move to avoid it, it slammed against her face, making her stumble as it fastened itself into place. Instantly, it bombarded her with new thoughts, and magic to force them to stick.

“Obey Mistress.” A disembodied voice said - her own. “Magical girls serve love and justice. Mistress is justice, I love to serve.”

“I- I won’t-”

“I belong to Mistress. Mistress makes me strong. I love to serve.”

“I- I don’t…”

“Mistress is love, Mistress is justice. I’m a good magical girl, I serve Mistress. I love to serve…”

Akemi’s whole body felt hot all of a sudden. She loved her mistress- wait, that was wrong. The words bounced around in her head, echoing and overlapping and driving her crazy. Mistress. Mistress. The word kept repeating and every time it ground down her will more and more and more. She was a magical girl! She was supposed to fight for love and justice!

But Mistress was love and justice.

She was a good magical girl. She served Mistress.

While the half-mask hid the new minion’s eyes, Izanami knew that Akemi’s eyes had turned pink, filled with hypnotic spirals as she was imbued with devotion. Akemi cried out, but it wasn’t pain - it was joy at having such a good Mistress.

Akemi struck her best magical girl pose. “Magical Girl of love and justice, Akemi Foster, here to punish evil~!” she declared.

“That’s… I think Natsuki will be upset she missed this…” Hikari muttered.

“I’ll get her later.” Izanami waved her off. “Now, my lovely minion - there are evildoers about ruining Mistress’ good day. We can’t have that, can we?”

“Oh! You’re right!” Akemi said, as if just becoming aware of the problem. “They defy Mistress, so they must be evil. I’ll punish them!”

“That’s right, you will. Go punish evil in the name of your Mistress.”

Akemi saluted, and ran off to the inside of the cafe. Seconds later, it was lighting up with flashes of magic. Izanami sat down at one of the outside seats and waited for her to be done.

“I thought you were taking a break from villainy.” Hikari grumbled.

“I am.” Izanami said. “I’m just helping Akemi do her job. Isn’t that downright heroic? And I get to relax, too, so it’s a victory for us both.”
