(March Voting Time!) Feeling Great

Man, the reception to that last video has been crazy. I knew I felt good about it while I was making it, but to see people respond so well to it was truly heartwarming. After all these years I still feel like I'm improving, I somehow still feel like I'm only just beginning to explore my full creative potential and it's such an invigorating feeling you wouldn't believe. On top of that, the growing support here on Patreon excites me to no end. Truly, thank you all very much.

With that growing support I've also come to think about the way I go about my mini reviews more and more. I feel like I'm doing you all a disservice by spending so little time on them, not to mention the levels themselves. On multiple occasions now I've come up with something I wish I'd said in the videos themselves, if only I had given them a little more time. At first I didn't want my Mini Reviews to interfere with my regular uploads, but I think that's the wrong approach in hindsight. I should take the time to consider the levels more seriously, write a proper script, and give them the moment in the spotlight they deserve. My mini reviews are by far not my most popular videos, and I'm unsure if that's because they're simply not up to standard, or if it's because the format doesn't lend itself well to YouTube to begin with, but I'm determined to find out which is the case.

If they continue to perform poorly after that, I may have to rethink the way I go about the Patreon rewards. Right now I'm thinking about just including the mini review at the end of the video for that month, but that leaves me in an awkward spot if the video simply isn't ready yet. It's also liable to create huge tonal whiplash in the video itself and introduce pacing issues. I don't know, I suppose we'll see.

In any case, feel free to vote for whatever level you wish me to review next in the comments, as always! In a week's time I'll tally up all the votes and spin the wheel.

This sounds interesting but WHErwin also covers it in his top 50 extremes video so I'm not sure about how it'll work as a standalone video

You should review this level you've probably never heard about: Removed Submission by WHErwin. On a more serious note, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on your own level. You having more insight could lend itself to a more in-depth/meaningful script. And the fact that it (sort of) subverts the format (you would not expect someone to review their own level) may even make it perform better than other mini reviews (don't quote me on that one, I don't know how trends work). I reckon you'd have a lot to say about it, so it would be interesting to have all of your thoughts on it in one place as opposed to little tidbits scattered around other videos.

Personally I always enjoy the mini reviews as standalone videos even if they don't perform as well. This month i'll say Funicular by BP2 again.

I’m feeling confident, I’m giving my vote to my very own Bones again.

I think I said that I would mix things up just for one month, so uh.... how about Pluto by djudjeito?

FoxMaker

your last video is probably your best gd video, and second best after "pink is for girls". I am interested in your opinion on modern memory levels, so please add maymory by ItzKiba
