Finally watched this, and enjoyed it. I did agree with you when you said "throw away his prescribed pills. All right then" As someone who takes very prescribed-life saving medications-even I went "hey!"When I first saw that scene, lol

I like what they did for the story in this movie, its not one for one from the games but took enough elements to be faithful and make it work in movie format. Abby and mike are new additions that interact with the games story of Freddy/Animatronics and William aften and daughter but could have sworn he had a son too.
Playing the games wont give you the story fully because most of it is background information you need to piece together across the first 4 games but what the movie tells is how William aften Killed multiple children and put them in animatronics which just by chance he didn't mean to came to life. He wears the suit because he blends in with them and they cant tell that its not a person. The animatronics go after the security guards because they are vengeful spirits and so you spend each game trying to survive the 5 nights.
The waiter in the movie is Matpat also named TheGameTheorist who led the movement to solve the mystery of FiveNights at Freddies and so he has videos that tell the complete story of the games. I have no idea which video to recommend because he made too many on the subject and have many loose ends due to the mystery of said games. But yeah hopefully someone can recommend a video that makes it simple to follow through since there is hours of information to put together

Yes, I would definitely say this movie is a love letter to the fans! So if you haven't played ANY of the games, I imagine it's a lot less enjoyable lol. But at the same time; This movie isn't actually canon to the games one-for-one, and it's pretty much non-canon in general for the whole series. A sort of mish-mash of bits and pieces, most likely serving the purpose of seeding out new lore hints to the theorists to help with the overall timeline lol.
I would absolutely watch you play through the games! They're all quite fun, and the earlier games? Terrifying, straight up A tier horror games. The later games are great imo, but some people think the series gets more 'kiddy' as it goes on, (which, tbf, I do see it. But it also gets more fun in a lot of ways so I don't really mind it) and the quality of the games only gets better and better! You most likely won't understand much about the lore even if you play the games though, because most of the lore is hidden within secret endings and codes that take some research or serious puzzle-solving. If you ever wanted to just get a straight up rundown of the lore, I recommend Mattpats 'Five Nights at Freddies Timeline' video, up on the Game Theorists channel. Mattpat actually showed up in this movie (which had my whole theatre roaring) as the waiter at that one restaurant! And yes, the Taxi driver is important in the fandom lol, his name is Corey. Scott Cawthon (creator of the games) truly cares abt the fnaf fanbase a lot to put popular creators in the movie! (Fun fact; Markiplier was going to be a part of it, but couldn't due to scheduling issues.)

Say Cody, please don't hate me for requesting this, but at some point please react to PAW Patrol: The Movie (which has an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, 4.5/5 on Google Reviews, 97% on Audience Scores, it's rated G which means people of all ages can watch it, was released on August 20th 2021, and like Young Sheldon has Iain Armitage as the main protagonist). And at some point please also react to PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (which currently has a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, 4.5/5 on Google Reviews, 94% on Audience Scores, it's rated PG, was released on September 29th 2023, and this time has McKenna Grace as the main protagonist). It's also said The Mighty Movie streams on Digital platforms on October 31st and I guarantee you'll have a great time watching it :)

Never played the games either. Enjoyed this movie. But now you've got to see willys wonderland! In my opinion it is the better fnaf movie even though it is no official fnaf movie
