The amount of memory whiplash that dial up sound brought was incredible and also so thankful we no longer have that. I think my ears almost ran away after the second time i heard that sound. Dale is not only awesome he’s Incredible. It took a couple times hearing his voice to realize he is Mr. Incredible but once he starts to yell its like yep there he is.

2023-10-24 19:01:25 +0000 UTCI feel ya on the Birthday thing. A lot of people in my class was invited that wasn't always nice to me. And I literally don't remember much gifts from them. I , too, liked inviting some teachers. Including my favorite English teacher in high school. Because they did like me, lol. I mean, apart from their job to teach-they actually talked to me, and were nice to me.

She can be so controlling like her cleaning everything up and changing up the whole house just because she disagreed with things. It's one thing if she's disagreeing with her kids choice in music I guess, but she even pulls stuff with her own husband and seemingly has no respect for him.

2023-10-18 22:21:28 +0000 UTCGreat reaction as always! This was a pretty good trio of episodes. I think it was at this point (the second episode) that Mary started becoming rather unlikeable to me. I have issues with ultra-religious people IRL (I won't get into that, of course, as I don't want to start an argument with anyone), and she just *grates* on my nerves, LOL. While she does make some valid points at times, her actions and personality can be difficult. 😆 Of course, that makes for good conflict in the show! I can't say more about it this early in the series, only that Mary is my least favorite character in the main family group, although I think the actor is excellent in the part. They were brilliant to hire the real-life daughter of Laura Metcalf, who as you know played Mary Cooper in The Big Bang Theory. I was saddened to hear you say that it's worse today for kids trying to cross conventional gender lines. I've been out of school a long time and by choice have no kids of my own, so I didn't know how much of an issue it can be today. I would have hoped that it would be better, not worse. 😑 I do know there is a ....kerfuffle, shall we call it... with transgender kids participating in certain sports, and it's really upsetting. My best friend has a non-binary child, and I've seen this kid's struggles with identity for several years. (Thankfully, my friends are very supportive, and their child has several good friends supporting them, too.) I keep hoping for a better world, but every two steps forward, we seem to slide another step back. Sometimes more. Anyway, point being, "traditional" gender roles are ludicrous. 😛 I'm glad my parents didn't get all twisted up about as I was growing up, even though I was definitely called a tomboy! I also appreciate that in Young Sheldon, Missy's parents and Meemaw are supporting her athletic endeavors and have her back.
