TBH my absolute favorite presidents for movies is a tie between Bill Pullman's character in this movie, and Harrison Ford's character in Air Force One.

2023-09-24 00:18:22 +0000 UTCAn hour left of the movie, but I wanted to quickly say that Captain Hiller (Will Smith) knew Jasmine might be at the El Toro Air Base because he had told her to meet him there. He knew if she made it out of L.A. before the aliens struck, she would have gone on to El Toro. Although he was told it was destroyed, he needed to know if she got there or not. It was a quick conversation they had before he returned to active duty, that she and Dylan could join him at the base, so it was easily missed that he meant El Toro with everything else that was going on.

2023-09-23 23:45:41 +0000 UTCThe guy with the scratchy voice is Harvey Fierstein. He has some kind of condition with his vocal cords that gives him a "double voice." He was a pioneer in Hollywood being one of the very few actors who was openly gay back in the 1980s. He's been in some popular movies, including Torch Song Trilogy and Mrs. Doubtfire. His distinct voice makes him instantly recognizable, lol. Independence Day is one of my favorite movies. I don't watch a lot of alien invasion movies, but this one really stands apart, in a good way.
