Damn, you have beaten me in terms of surgeries, lol. I've had 10 in my life. Multiple heart ones-to replace pulmonary valve. I did have one of my knee surgeries done halfway awake. Mainly because I'm like you, and I really don't like going under. Partly because waking up is the worst for me. My body HATES it, and I always have to vomit as soon as I wake. I never totally understood why-except I must be a lightweight when it comes to drugs, lol Edit: I was actually really happy they mentioned that kid with a hole in his heart, because that's legit what I had.

I think Sheldon's first attempt at training Missy taught him how best to train Penny. Positive Reinforcement is the better technique- he gave Penny chocolates.

I’ve had three surgeries and woke up for a few seconds in the middle of my last one. I love how the nurse is constantly in medical/hospital scenes in the bbt universe. In fact she was the first non main character in screen in big bang theory

The person that played Blossom was the same person that played Amy.

When Missy mentions the show Blossoms to Sheldon, it is a show that ran in the 90’s that starred one of the future TBBT stars Mayim Bialik.

More comments now that I've watched the entire thing. 😁 Don't feel bad about not being great at math. I certainly am not good at math either. Numbers have never appealed to me, and adding letters to the numbers didn't help! I wanted to go into medical forensics when I was a teen, until I realized how much math would be involved, not to mention medical school, so yeah.....I went into law instead. I'm much better with words (though as you probably know by now through my comments, I'm not very brief when it comes to using words).
I love that they played Bad Reputation by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts during the beginning montage of Sheldon's hospital stay and belittlement of staff. Blossom was a 1980s sitcom about a perky young girl, maybe around middle school to start? I think she was about 11 or 12, something like that. One of her older brothers, played by Joey Lawrence, became a teen heartthrob for young teens when the show was airing. Personally, I had a teen crush on the actor (Michael Stoyanov) who played the slightly older brother. Anyway, the show is pretty dated now; it was agressively 1980s vibe from what I recall. You might think it charming, though; it had its moments. Alf was probably also airing around that time, but I detested Alf and still do. The eating cats thing just makes me angry and grossed out.

Yes, they are building up to meatier episodes, but that is ALL I will say about that, so no hints or spoilers! Wallace Shawn, who plays Dr. John Sturgis, you may have already realized is Vizzini in The Princess Bride, if you've seen that. He also voiced Rex in the Toy Story franchise.
I also have friends who don't drive. It seems to becoming a trend among younger people as well to not bother learning to drive. I couldn't fathom not being able to drive my car, but if it suits them not to drive, that's perfectly okay.
