I think I finally realized why the Sam and Freddie dating episodes felt so off because we never saw them in their point of view until I love you. It would have worked so much better if we had gotten scenes of just the two of them and had time to breathe and figure out their relationship. If the show had continued, I like to think they would have gotten another chance to try again after growing up a little and learning how to be friends. In the end they never gotten a fair shot and I think they would have had an epic romance if given the chance.

It feels like fan service because they made it happen and then a couple episodes later just broke them up without even giving them a chance to grow as a couple. And then very rarely even acknowledge that they ever dated in the first place... I mean, it's not even acknowledged in the next episode that they just broke up. They could've so easily kept them together in the background, with the odd episodes based around them as a couple. Then in episodes they didn't wanna focus on it, just have them sitting closer together, holding hands, maybe the odd kiss. They didn't even have to make them last until the last episode. Just longer than they actually gave them. At least a Season! It actually weirdly reminds me of episodes of Disney/Nickelodeon shows where a main character who's usually good suddenly turns bad for some reason. (Something I always LOVED!! And still do... Haha) It's like this big event with adverts everywhere and all this hype and it's just so dramatic, and it only lasts one episode. Except with that we're expecting it to only be one episode, MAYBE two. Whereas having two main characters get in a relationship, you expect that to last a while. Especially when the show has been leading up to it for years already... Like, ever since the first kiss between them back in S2 they were kinda hinting at it. Then at the start of S3 we started to really get hints that Sam at least liked Freddie. Then finally, they give us what we want! Only to destroy everything instantly... It really would've been so easy to have them keep dating for a while longer.

I feel like they just made the first few episodes of the season all about their relationship then didn’t know what to do after. Like they didn’t want them in a relationship without making it the center of the episode or just didn’t know how to do that. They could have had a lot more better moments with them and after they solved their issues just have them in a nice relationship and made it a side thing. I like that despite how different they were they didn’t try to change each other and had different hobbies and still have a good relationship. I didn’t agree with Carly their. 2023-05-27 01:52:38 +0000 UTCSame, except I was 12. Seddie was my first real ship (before I even knew what shipping was) and I was super annoyed. We all know Sam and Freddie can be amicable, they get along great when they genuinely do, so it was so disappointing to have all that lead up and then not give them an arc or a storyline or honestly anything even remotely close to a fighting chance. I think they cut it off cuz they were done exploring what they could, but I dont know why Seddie had to be main focus, they could've just been together (like Beck and Jade) in the background of other storylines.

They weren't given a chance to actually grow as a couple. I was angry at 9 years old and I'm still angry at 20... Haha

2023-05-26 22:03:47 +0000 UTCSo that last moment in the breakup scene perfectly parallels right after Sam and Freddie's first kiss back in S2. As Sam was leaving, Freddie said "Hey. I hate you." and Sam smiled and said "Hate you too." And then here as Sam is leaving, instead he says "I love you." as she's leaving, and she smiles and says "Love you too." But uh, I remember being PISSED when I was first watching this. There was all this build up for Sam and Freddie to be together, for YEARS! It was HUGE and then iOMG ended with them kissing, and it was this huge thing waiting for iLost My Mind and all that and there were all these adverts for it and then they finally got together. And their relationship lasted 3 episodes, most of which they spent arguing. It was SO disappointing. I was like 9 years old and absolutely heartbroken and so annoyed. They could've done so much more with their relationship. It didn't even always have to be a main focus of episodes. So yeah... This was my first heartbreak... (And I have had many more since... All from TV characters... Haha)
