Matilda compared to Annie? That I’ve never heard of. Now, comparing Matilda to Harry Potter absolutely. I grew up seeing her as a female, American version who just hadn’t received her letter. And thanks to Fantastic Beasts we know there is an American wizard school, so maybe when she became 11 she became an official witch. And the actress who played Trunchbull played Aunt Marge in HP and Prisoner of Azkaban.
5:16 oh no this song was in Matilda for a while. The band Rusted Root had this song come out in 1994. Most people know it from Ice Age though.
On another reactor’s movie react to this film someone pointed something quite interesting about Trunchbull’s character. she is a strong, muscular, and doesn’t want children(granted her reasoning is horrible but it comes off as a bad thing to not want children), and then compare it to Ms. Honey who is soft, delicate and wants kids. It’s taken a long while for us to break the stereotypes on strong women. Look at Louisa in Encanto, how many animated women are strong like her, able to still be feminine, and not be considered a scary person. It’s defiantly something to mull over.
44:31 one of your greatest reactions ever!!!! The plate shattering, Bruce burping, and your shocked face, gotta keep that in your YouTube reaction!

I’m not sure if it was said but Matilda is originally a Roald Dahl book just like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach (among others) so that might explain kind of the what the heck is this feeling

She said she was nervous dancing to the whole cast and crew danced along to make her feel better. They also had a reunion 21 years later and recreated some of the scenes! Search up “Matilda reunion Mara Wilson”

I haven't seen this movie in so long lol When Ms. Trunchbull sniffed the chocolate box Ms. Honey placed wrong I literally said "What are you a bloodhound?!" the same time Cody did. Its an hour and half movie and it's gonna take me 2 hours to get through it just because I keep dying laughing and rewinding his reactions. Cody is truly worth the monthly subscription and then some!

I agree. As someone who grew up on this movie, I don’t think I saw it in the movie theater but it’s not impossible I did, hearing Cody just say the equivalent of what the hell am I watching had me replay his reaction a few times
