The Foundational Documents of The Church of New Game Plus

GG, avatars! I’m thrilled to share with you the foundational documents of The Church of New Game Plus—the Doctrine, Core Principles, 10 Gaming Commandments, Code of Conduct, and more. These form the pillars of our community and philosophy, a space where gaming meets spiritual growth, self-discovery, and, most importantly, community. Each document reflects the values we’re building together: Infinite Choice, personal lore, and the journey each of us takes in life and gaming.

Thank You for Being Here

Your presence here means everything. Whether you’re a quiet observer or a committed participant, each of you makes the Church stronger. Thank you for your support, interest, and engagement. If you’ve found meaning here, I invite you to consider supporting the Church further. Through Patreon, your contributions help make it possible for me to create meaningful content, build out this vision, and focus on bringing our shared journey to life.

Upcoming Project: The Church Manual (Lorebook)

I'm excited to share that I’m working on the Church Manual, or “Lorebook.” This will be my interpretation of the Church's guiding principles and philosophies, but it will be a work we create together. It’s based on our belief in Infinite Choice, meaning each of you has a unique perspective on how we got here and where we’re going. Your thoughts, stories, and insights are not only welcome—they’re vital. This is a shared story, with every voice adding to the tapestry we’re weaving.

Together, we’re building a new kind of community. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us all. GG, and thank you for being here from Level 1!

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! I really appreciate that you took the time to engage with the Statement of Faith and the Code of Conduct, and I’m glad to hear they resonate as a foundation for inclusivity. One of the core values I hold dear in The Church of New Game Plus is the idea of openness—encouraging everyone to find their own meaning and interpretation without rigid boundaries. I believe this flexibility allows each member to explore their unique perspective without feeling confined by doctrine or dogma. The documents are intentionally designed to guide rather than dictate, allowing everyone to experience the journey in a way that feels right for them. I understand that, for some, this kind of freedom can feel a bit unstructured or uncertain, and I’m open to discussing ways to provide tools that might help individual members feel more anchored if they need it. However, it’s also important to me that we protect the space for interpretation and personal exploration, rather than setting firm expectations for everyone. At the heart of this church is the belief that our diversity of thought, experience, and approach enriches our community. While the principles are open-ended, respect and kindness—especially as outlined in the Code of Conduct—remain foundational values that we all share. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and as always I am open to discussion.

I cried reading the commandments. Thank you so much for putting this community together 🩷

With that said, I love the inclusiveness of the Statement of Faith and the Code of Conduct, and I think they are a great foundation for welcoming diverse perspectives. I do wonder, though, if there’s a way to balance that openness with a bit more grounding guidance. Maybe some additional principles or prompts could help members feel anchored while still respecting individual interpretation. Across all these documents there's a sound thread of "everything is open to interpretation," but without explicitly stating that those principles are still guided by and dependent on adherence to other doctrines like those laid out in the Code of Conduct, particularly the ones regarding the treatment of others. Whether we are taking this religion framing 100% seriously or not, we're trying to build a community that is healthy to be a part of, and we are still framing it as a religion, so there are more aspects of how existing religions are structured that we can co-opt for our benefit. Anyone else agree?

As the self-appointed Church Scribe, I would happily provide my input on these documents.

Wow I’m loving this. The 10 commandments are perfect. Can’t wait for a physical “Lorebook” 🫶🏻

"And spoke with the author themselves"

In the by laws it states members must submit some form of gaming achievements, where would this submission be located?

Mason

"Don't quote the old text to me, witch. I was there when it was written."
