The Gaming Culture War Call To Action
Added 2024-11-12 13:43:25 +0000 UTC This is a call to action. I woke up this morning and just felt it on my heart to give this message. Where is the modern audience? Where are we and what can we do? And our battle isn't hard. It isn't throwing hate comments or being disrespectful to our fellow gamers. It is really very simple. We need to show up and be creative and showcase the beauty of diverse games. "Helping" doesn't mean money. It can be liking a post, sharing it, and commenting. Engagment is the real currency and I and other creators and developers need it. I hope this message resonates with some of you as I continue to move forward with the experiment. I again want to thank everyone who has supported me with pixels, bytes, and kilobytes of support. Please DM me if you feel you want to give more. Otherwise, I hope this message inspires you to start your youtube channel, start your podcast, release your art, and lets fight the algorithm.

I admit, I have been in some sort of a freeze since elections and trying to get back to it all. Being incredibly introverted I just do game clips without voice overs. You have inspired me for years and maybe I need to step out of my own comfort zone.

Good question, but I think there's an explanation here. 1) We don't watch that garbage, usually. 2) Comment order is algorithmically set, not chronological. And the "vibes" that the comments you see will reflect the general tone of the comments as a whole. So if there's mostly vitriol in the comments, those rise to the top, and the positivity is drowned out. Also, I have a suspicion that different people see different comments in different orders. But I have no hard evidence for that.

2024-11-13 05:05:13 +0000 UTCI understand what is being said in this. Which is why, as of the last year or so I have been getting more “indy” games than some AAA’s. Or games made by smaller development teams. There seems to be more passion there and to be honest better story telling. Not just another yearly cash grab for another year or seeing a smaller game blow up just so the bigger company’s to copy it but being to late to the party and/or not really understanding what made the original great in the first place. I also kind of miss when you bought a game that was it, for better or worse. Nothing hiding being pay walls or release a have baked game that take a whole extra year to be actually good or playable. I just want a good functioning game
