Join me on Nebula!

TL;DR I just launched on NEBULA, an ad-free, creator-built & owned streaming platform that I’ve been an admirer of for years. You can find my past and future catalogue, plus eventual exclusives and early-releases, by signing up—with an exclusive discount—at: https://go.nebula.tv/cinemastix

So yes, I know some of you already guessed it. And many more have been encouraging it for a long time now, especially in light of the copyright issues I’ve been riddled with lately (spoiler alert: that’s not a problem on Nebula). And while I’ve appreciated the suggestion from all y’all to join, Nebula works a little differently than that. You have to be referred by other creators already on the platform. Which makes it a very, very big deal that I was invited. Because understand: Nebula is not YouTube. And it’s not a replacement to YouTube. Nebula is a creator-built, creator-owned streaming service with a very high standard of quality, and an ever-increasing amount of original programming not offered anywhere else.

I know this is going to start sounding a little talking point-y. But believe me, this was news I’d been waiting most of my channel’s life for, and you should’ve seen the smile on my face when I got the news a few weeks ago.

Understand also, my joining Nebula changes nothing about my work and output here on YouTube. What it DOES do is allow me far more creative freedom. A safe harbor from arbitrary copyright claims on my work. A (truly) unbelievable (like seriously insane) amount of support from the teams and fellow creators that exist over there. And opportunities for grander future endeavors that just wouldn’t be available to me otherwise.

And as a result of a lot of that, a lot of videos I’ve made over the years that have been lost due to claims and other reasons will get to see a new life exclusively on Nebula in the coming months. And whenever possible, I’ll also be releasing new episodes a day earlier on Nebula.

So if ANY of that—plus an ad-free, sponsorship-free watching experience—sounds as good to you as it does to me, I recommend just giving Nebula a shot. Not just for me, but for the many other creators also on the platform creating incredible content (including my hero Man Carrying Thing, whom I’ll maybe finally have the courage to reach out to…). You can sign up for Nebula at an exclusive discount by going to https://go.nebula.tv/cinemastix

I hope you’ll join me there. It’s a seriously amazing place to be a creator, and a viewer.

And if nothing else, have a great weekend everybody :) Danny

I don't see a way to comment on the Nebula videos, so this is just a quick note that "The Knick" has the wrong dates in the description. And thanks for the recommendation, we had missed it ten years ago and are so glad that you suggested watching it.

I just ended my annual subscription to Nebula. In one of his Nebula promos, LegalEagle Devin said Nebula had an urbanist, anti-car bend. It seemed odd to me that a general content platform like Nebula would be taking a stand like that so I am voting with my wallet. But I will be upping my level for your content here in a couple months.

I've watched you on Nebula for a (short) while now. It's a great platform and I'm sure your presence there will help it grow.

Totoro

Hehe, same. Thank you!

Whoo! One day maybe I’ll completely transition to over there. It’s just such a pleasant climate. I watch completely different types of stuff, even when that stuff is also on YouTube. And not even just because of the ads.

Danny Boyd

I could have sworn you were already on there.

Samuel Ollesh

Been on Nebula for a while; added you to my library there.

DrWex

I joined Nebula to support creators like you. So happy to see you join.

Been waiting for you over there for ages! Welcome!
