Good night Miya

Miya Takahashi, a woman of great inner and outer beauty, even in her 40ties finds herself on the operating table late at night. Taken away from her family home earlier that night after her recent, assumed to be upset stomach, took a turn for the worse and a worried husband saw his wife loaded up and admitted to the ER.

Now completely stripped of even the lace underwear she had been wearing for bed, feels the cool rubber of the operating all over. a few odd stickers and tube cling to her soft skin, just one of the many thing overwhelming her this moment.

They said that she'd be undergoing an urgent procedure on her intestines, and that she'd be put under a general anesthesia for an yet unclear time span. Not to worry however, since she'd be getting good care now...

That's all she knows, as she begins to feel even more warm and dizzy than she already had been recently and the doctor approaches her face with a mask.

Asking her to take deep breaths...

...and relax

It feels like a warm hug from inside...and her fear melts away with her last coherent thoughts....

A comforting cream is a step of care taken even in urgent cases to ensure the patient's eyes remain hydrated and protected througout a long sleep under bright lights.

It is complimented by tape, to keep the eyes tightly shut.

After this, the now limp, and helpless body is promtly intubated, as to secure a way to their resting lungs

Endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventialtion...

Just one way they hope to bring her sickly body through the strain of an extensive surgery...

the stress of a gaping hole being sliced at its center and the intenstines being being exposed to the outside air and mainy touches...

But for that, even more necessary steps are taken, which the poor woman couldn't even be informed about under these circumstances..

Miya is suffering from and advanced state of sepsis, from her leaking bowels..

The only place she may wake up again is within and intensive care unit, under the help of many medications and fluids upholding her already crumbling vital functions.

For this the team already knew they would inserting both a NG tube for feeding through the nose, as well as an central venous catheter at her neck, in order to secure a vein, that would not crumble under the immense medication load pushed into the body.

The IV catheter she had recieved uppon admission to the ER would not suffice.

The state of general anesthesia finally preents the opportunity of performing all these necessary medical routines on a blissfully unaware patient, for their their benefit.

And with all these tubes now controling and providing intake of fluids and substances, as well as Miya's independance lost to her condition, naturally there is the unavoidable need for clean and controled urine collection.

And even at a time such as 1 hour after midnight, when most sleep comfortably in their beds, many individuals have come togheter to care for a person who was robbed of that rest.
