POV Surgery story [comm.]

Hey everyone.

This one is a bit of a special one. It's actually a work I have been commissioned to do, by a friend.

But they were kind enough to let me share it it with everyone.

It's whole surgery experience from a patient's point of view.

I'd say it's easily one of my longest consecutive works yet, but if there's anything missing to complete the picture, let me know and I'll add it.

Thank you a lot for commissioning me, it's certainly a first for me in multiple ways and I enjoyed making it a lot!

And thank you to everyone who's supporting me here of course!

"And here we are, Sir."

"Hello!~ You must be __, right?"

...

"So nice to meet you! I'm Kumiko, your OR nurse! Or one of them at least..."

"Well, the OR isn't my domain, so I will leave you in her care. Best of luck, with your operation, Sir."

...

"Tada! Here is your new bed. Or surgical operating table, but bed sounds more inviting...and you'll be doing a lot of sleeping on it, so I think it fits."

...

"That's a little conveyor belt here. Just scoot onto it, I'll help you settle in over here."

"I'll turn the glass white for us, so we have a little more privacy."

"There...Much more personal. Hope you're comfortable so far."

"Which is quite good, since now I'll have to remove your gown. 'Kay?"

"Don't think about it much, we'll see plenty of you in the surgery."

"Hello, Sir. My name is Sumi...I'll also be caring for you today. Feeling alright?"

...

"I'll fasten this strap over your thighs. It's for your safety, Sir."

"And here is a nice blanket for you. That will stay on until you're under, don't worry.""

"Hope you didn't get cold."

"Doin' great so far, Sir!"

"You will have to put your arm out like this for the IV. Kumiko will take care of that while I set up your ECG."

"I will have to put 3 of these on your chest, alright Sir?"

...

"I'm putting in your IV now. It's gonna hurt, but just for like...less than a second, so just hold still for that long and you're done."

"3..2..1.."

"See? Not bad at all."

"Thank you for being a big boy." *giggles*

"I'll also strap you in over here. Safety first after all."

"Well Sir, we're done here...The time has come. Ready to go in?"

...

"Yes? Awesome!"

"You'll see, it's gonna be cool."

...

*You roll towards the OR door*

*On the way, a doctor heading to the parallel OR passes you.*

"Be sure to enjoy Dr. Nishimura's hands in there. She's great with them."

*She winks and heads off.*

*You continue on through the door in the slightly cooler operating room, get turned around and pushed face first into position to suddenly meet you anesthesiologist.*

"Welcome to the OR, Sir! The nurse will just spread your arms out for me, don't mind her."

"It's so good to see you've made it. I still remember our appointment vividly. I hope you still remember me too from that. And in case not, I'm doctor Imamura, your anesthesiologist, or just sleep lady. How are you feeling?"

...

"I see. Well, you should be physically fit for surgery at the very least. Not been eating or anything?"

...

"Great! Well then..."

"I've already set up your fluid bag and all the medication I'll give you in just a bit. Let me just quickly get everything hooked up to you and we can get going."

"Nurse Sawada?"

"Yes?"

"Could you uncover his chest for me?"

"Of course, doctor."

"I just have to get all my vital monitoring connect and then we'll put you to sleep, alrighty?"

"Could you get that one down there?"

"Yes."

"And..connect it all..."

"Dr. Risa is very diligent, Sir. You're in very caring hands. The anesthesia will be a breeze and she will be watching over you the entire time you're here."

*The ECG begins to reflect your heartbeats with soothing tones*

"Don't praise me more than I deserve."

"Huh? But it's very true, doctor!"

"I'll do my best~"

"Aaaand now~ here is the mask we'll be using. I made sure there is just enough air in the cushion so it's nice and soft. I'll gently place it over your mouth and nose, alright?"

"Here we go~..."

"There."

"How is that? Comfy?...Great."

"Now do me a favor and start taking some really nice and deep breaths for me. Just relax a bit and focus on your breathing...mhm?~"

"...Yeah?...Wonderful!"

"Now...Let me just get this going...slowly empty that bag into you~"

*biep* ... *biep*

"Alright, your IV is pumping now."

"And I'll start the anesthesia."

*biepu*

"Well, that'd seal your fate." *giggles*

"It will be a moment until the anesthetic will slowly start taking effect."

"Just keep breathing...IN....and OUT.......IN....aaand OUT..."

...

"Awe, very good! Just keep going."

"You are doing fantastic."

...

"We're getting a bit sleepy, huh?

"That's very normal..."

"Don't fight it..."

"Just take another..."

"Deep breath..."

"For me..."

"Veeeeryy good~..."

...

"And he's gone. Lovely~"

*As she thinks you've slipped away, she tightens her left hand's grip around your mask and chin significantly and pulls your head back. As you become unable to breathe for yourself, Dr. Imamura takes over by squeezing the green bag, which belongs to the network of tubes your lungs have been forced to use. Through it, her right hand can now force air in and out of your lungs.*

...

*After a handful of pumps, the doctor gently glides her hand over your eyes to check for any sign of consciousness.*

...

*As expected, you remain completely still and oblivious to the stimuli.*

"Deeply sedated...Good, now let's intubate you."

*She removes the mask and turns away to get the intubation supplies.*

"He shouldn't be much trouble."

"Open wide!~"

"There we go."

"Awe, what a nice airway."

"Slid right in."

"...Just hook...that up..."

...

*As the doctor pushes some buttons, the ventilator begins to pump the air in and out of your lungs.*

"Can we begin, doctor?"

"Yes, of course, my dear. He's all set from my side. Go to town on him."

"Okay."

*The nurses fully remove the blanket given to you before and get to work fully preparing your body for the operation.*

"Well Ris, how is our young man doing?"

"Very well, doc..."

"He went out like a light and all his vitals are right where you'd like them. He made quite a decent impression during his pre OP exam after all."

"Then he should be an easy one."

*Meanwhile the nurses continue to work, trying to quickly get you ready ."

"You good, Sumi?"

"Yeah, I got the chest. Are you laying the catheter?...Alright."

"Is that enough, doctor?"

"Yes, that's plenty. You know how I want it draped?"

"Ehm..Roughly."

"Hold on, I'll show you."

*Dr. Imamura pulls up your eye lids for her to apply the cream to them.*

"Well, sleep tight. I'll see your face post OP again."

*......*

*....*

*....*

"Sir..."

"Hello..."

"Good morning..."

"No no..come on..."

"Wake up..."

"Cough! Cough! Cough!"

"There we go!~"

"Good job!"

"I think you surgery went very well too. But the doctor can tell you more about that later."

"Awe, still tired, huh?"

"...Fluids are all good..."

...

"Oh, he's opening his eyes again..."

"...Just some oxygen, okay?..."

*...*

*...*

*...*

"...stable condition.........yeah?......Alright......he should be easy to care for..."

*...*

*Suddenly something... is bothering you.*

*...?...*

"Look! He's waking up."

"Finally...Only been sleeping since the OP"

Nurse: "H-Hey, good morning mr. sleepy face. Did..we startle you?"

...

"I'm sorry. But the doctor would like to check up on you."

Doctor: "I'll just have to see how you are doing post OP, nothing bad, nothing invasive. You've already had plenty of that."

Nurse: "I'll open your gown, okay? Don't worry, will be quick."

I am always open to converse with people who share an interest :) Twitter is preferred for that.

ComfyAnesthesia

I would really like to chat with you if you are open to doing so, yes. :)

You can also follow me through my main Pixiv or my Twitter if you like.

ComfyAnesthesia

Yes, the process of surgery is truly a wonderful thing in many ways, isn't it?

ComfyAnesthesia

Knowing that I could improve your day in some way makes me so happy to hear. You've improved my days with your work, because as you say this is most definitely unique medfet. I have explored many different kinds, flavors if you will that are more rough and have found pleasure in those... but I want to focus on more like this. This is where I feel all the passion and love lies in medfet. When the patient is on the operating table, watching the surgical team prep them and hearing the anesthesiologist explain how they'll be drifting away, all that they are is put in the team's hands. It's one of the ultimate acts of trust, and that is a thing of true beauty. Your work is a reminder of that beauty, and this poet thanks you so deeply for it. <3

The next story I'd like to present here will be the foot surgery of the blind girl Nishi. I just haven't made any progress recently :/ But your comment has motivated me quite a bit. I'll do my best :D

ComfyAnesthesia

Thank you sooo much!! reading your comment actually improved my day ^^; I'm so glad to hear that my work has hit that spot! I know that feeling of searching trying to find something by someone that can capture those feelings you have for medical care. While what I cover may end up being diverse, as I sometimes also try to offer something for different interest, I generally want to have things come from this wonder of real medical work. I think that is often overlooked in more common medfet.

ComfyAnesthesia

I wish I had enough words to describe what this story means to me. This is what I've searched high and low for... art and an experience that captures the intrigue and wonder of the medical world, the passion and care that can be injected into it, in a consenting and caring manner. I have seen many medical pieces. I have never felt so much joy upon seeing one before finding your work.

I also really loved the dark-skinned lady with the white hair at the end, and earlier right before we blacked out. She's so pretty and beautiful. I want to see more of her.

coldReactive

I really love all-pov sequences like this. Please do more~

coldReactive

Amazing work, the story and POV angles were amazing keep up the great work.

Blaze Honorblade

Was a lot of work indeed. So I'm super thankful for every comment validating that work being put in. XD Glad you love it!

ComfyAnesthesia

That's definitely the most elaborate story yet, great work. Love the POV angle.

I had that experience too much, but as you know I don't remember many of them.
