Michelle and Lieutenant are characters from my setting, participants in few stories.
Michelle is a super popular author of action-packed detective stories of various genres (science fiction, love stories, history). He is a young elite, playboy, big lover of Russian ballet (or rather yachts, champagne and relax in the company of long-legged ladies). He imposed into the Lieutenant's department to see the life and work of officers from the inside(thanks to his connections and universal adoration). This was necessary for writing his future new book.
Lieutenant is a detective in the Metropolitan Police Service, Criminal Investigation Department. Lieutenant is a joking nickname, not an officer's rank. He holds the position of "Detective Chief Inspector" and later "Detective Superintendent". He's a good friend, loyal comrade, father of a teenage daughter and just a wonderful man.
It's trite, but why not. Michelle showed particular interest to detective for a whole year. He showed signs of attention, invited him on dates, supported him, but it had having only an annoying effect on the officer. Well, later..
