Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana | Guitar cover WITH TABS |

Hello everyone! Patreon Request No: 29 - Dirty Diana.

PITCH CORRECTED - 0.30

Main riff : I watched a video on the vertex Effects channel where Paul Jackson Jr. plays the riff of Dirty Diana. He uses perfect fourth voicing in the first bar, but I don't know...in the recorded version it sounds more like it's played in fifths. However, Paul does state at the end of the video "something like that" I think both ways sound good. Pick your poison ;)

First solo : Why i play that sixteenth note riff on two different positions ( bar 47 & bar 49-52 ) ItΒ΄s simple... the distance from the tenth fret to the third fret is shorter. After that the descending line of measure 48 ends on the low E string, from which it is easier to change position along the same string up to the 15th fret.

Have fun!

I no longer have the laser gun option , because my neighbour moved away with their kids ;) I use that one on Rebel Yell...okay it was just for fun, not the real thing!Give in to me has crossed my mind time to time.

Insane song Juha, incredible, just missing the "laser parts" by Steve Stevens, pretty much unplayable without the toy. Maybe next time you'll gonna do "Give in to me", amazing song with Slash?

Hi Matt! 4/4 time was a sure thing. I thought for a while how to write this song...tempo 131 or half tempo. I ended up with 131 tempo because then the transcription looks much simpler. But on the other hand, this song is a bit difficult, because it has a half-tempo feeling but also a double-tempo feeling...Definitely Beat it vibe on the end ;)

Fantastic job, Juha!! Before you sat down to work it out, did you think it was going to be in an unusual time signature? I'm a Yes and a Genesis fan, lol, and I remember having trouble counting this one when it came out! Somehow has a double-time feel too even at 131 bpm before sounding like half-time in the chorus, right? Oh, and in the sixteenth-note section where you changed positions (and in the outro solo) - clear homage to Luke's rhythm riffs on "Beat It." You played it perfectly - incredible ear. πŸ‘
