Even if they've left, they can't leave. Chinese living in Canada, for example, are firmly under the CCP's extensive monitoring apparatus. At the same time, other forces are at work: Those who are primarily dependent on WeChat or similar sources because they don't understand the local language and culture apparently go through a 'honeymoon' period but eventually a reaction sets in and many become involved in conservative causes through Chinese evangelical organizations. Far from being happy to be free many of them diligently seek to limit the freedoms of others. Legal marihuana, gay rights, all too much freedom to handle.
