Hey Laowinners!

First off, thanks for you guys and your thoughtful recovery wishes. Fever has finally subsided, and the virus seems to be on its last legs, so a couple more days, and I reckon everything will be fine.

We are going to shoot a post birth video for next week's release when both of us are feeling 100%, and I will make sure to get an Olivia interview in there.

I wanted to address something that have been blowing up my inbox these days. This is that everyone seems to be very paranoid that Xi Jinping said that he would not hesitate to use force to instigate the reunification of Taiwan with the mainland, if a Hong Kong-esque 1 country, 2 systems approach was not accepted.

1. Taiwan will never accept this.

2. They say this EVERY YEAR.

This is not a new thing. This has been a party priority since the Mao days. It's been part of CCP doctrine since day 1 to address the public, saying that mainland China will reclaim Taiwan by force.

It's necessary for the party to constantly remind it's citizens that they are the legitimate China, and many people in China are even convinced that Taiwan not only wants to return under communist rule, but it is the responsibility of the CCP to make that happen, as seen in my WeChat moments here.

Taiwan is not only backed by a US treaty that forces America into war to backup Taiwan in the event of an invasion, but even in the event of a surprise invasion, China would ultimately suffer incredible losses to actually pull off the eventual reclamation.

It would be devastating militarily, economically, and destroy China's plans for world expansion.

China says a lot of stuff. They say it every year. If Taiwan is going to come back someday, it's not going to be through a military takeover.
