Does Imperialism Make Better Breakfasts?

Hey Laowinners!
Now hear me out.
Why in the hell is breakfast in Taiwan and Hong Kong so much better than Mainland China? They are both Chinese majority areas, who speak Chinese in some way shape or form, but have been influenced by other countries. Let's make a comparison.
We will not include wholly western foods like bagels, waffles, cereal etc... because these are easily found in Taiwan and Hong Kong. We will focus on the main staples of breakfasts.
Taiwan - It's common to find custard buns, and soup dumplings at breakfast joints, as well as tasty wraps full of beef, cheese and all kinds of other stuff. Very Chinese, but definitely some influence from the Portuguese. Taiwan was called "Formosa", after all. An absolute laowin.

Now lets head to Hong Kong
Very heavily influenced by the UK (come on... it was part of it until 1997, duh) but everyone knows and loves Dim Sum. That can be found everywhere. What about a local HK breakfast. Enter heaven... Honey and butter soaked french toast, stuffed with PEANUT BUTTER FOR GOD'S SAKES. Not to mention butter jammed crusty pineapple buns that melt in your mouth. And HK breakfast noodles. No comparison.

Best damned noodles ever (they even use forks in HK)
Now China... China, China, China.
What can I say about you? Yeah, you have regional specialties, but let's talk about your staples. The daily stuff just like I did for the above Chinese areas of Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Rice porridge. (from SerpentZA's breakfast video)
Boiled eggs... Steamed man tou (gluey bread with no taste)

China may have the overall best food and selection due to it's size, but when it comes to breakfast, GTFO.
You are drunk.
Go home.
