Drove 700 miles to meet a DNA match

I've been on the road guys! I matched a girl on 23 and me who had a weirdly strange high DNA match with me, so I ended up contacting her, who contacted the rest of the family, and it all turned out that we are related! It ended up becoming 100+ member reunion for people who've never met each other that are blood related to us. It was a fantastic time in the middle of nowhere Ohio, and led me and Vivi to film a bunch of fun stuff.
We are currently in Amish country, and I am filming Vivi's reaction to how things work in the land of the Amish.

2018-07-28 04:43:43 +0000 UTCI did Ancestry and discovered...that although I have three sisters, I now have a BROTHER! He is now in his 70s and we never knew. I guess my dad had an affair when he was about 19 (before WWII), and she was married, and never told anyone. But Ancestry really made it messy! We apparently did the DNA tests at around the same time, and the sister whom we contacted was totally freaked, and then she went in and took our father's name off her tree, and typed in her father's name. We were able to make contact with our "brother," and he was freaked out, and it was a mess for awhile. Now, he is curious about us, wanted to know more about our father, photos, etc. It is with caution to do those DNA tests! But I discovered that my daughter is 49% European Jewish (her father's Jewish), and I am 60% Norwegian, including the towns my ancestors are from! :)

Somewhere around the early 2000s it feels like they really embraced being a tourist trap so not quite what it once was. Used to go all the time since I'm only 1.5 or 2 hours north in Cleveland.... Still some good restaurants down there, and I love the Apple Bread. Hope you and Vivi had a good time in my home state.
