I use power chord with octave on intro riff. Seems like Lukather used this form in the earlier years, nowadays he plays just root & the fifth. You can experiment which way you like it.

Solo bar 44 : is played like Luke shows it on Star Licks video. Quite interesting choice of notes…key is F#m and he uses sharp A and sharp D notes. Little confusing…but when you play it on the speed of light you get away with murder ;)
